Comments Thread For: Cotto: Does Pacquiao Fear Me? Mayweather Will Go To 154

lol... This is a really bad translation of Cotto's comments posted on PR's newspaper "Primerahora", but I understand BoxingScene intent to create some buzz and make people to post comments (got me commenting too, lol). Cotto never question "Does Pacquiao fears me?" but he did question why Manny has been willing to fight other fighters at 147 limit including Joshua Clottey but faced him at 145 and why Pacman did have any problem facing Cheato at 150 but he's not willing to do the same with him. He also said that he's not willing to fight under 150. I think those are valid questions.
In another interview couple of weeks back Cotto admitted that Manny has been the best fighter he ever fought. That Manny speed and angles gave him a lot of problems and that there were some clauses (didn't specified) in their 1st fight that end up playing against him. (people assume he's talking about the weight).
IMHO both fighters are in title to fight at whatever weight they feel at their best. If 147 is for Manny who are we to complain about it, 150-154 is Cotto's he should look for whatever is best for him. I'm Cotto's fan but I do believe that both Manny and Floyd will have the better of him (hope I'm wrong) but I also believe that Cotto has paid the dues to get big pay days!!!

Thats right Cotto, be smart and stick to your guns. Don't fall for the "weight drain" scam again. Roach, Arum and Pac are salivating at the mouth, hoping you fall for their scam yet again. If I know Bob, he will do anything to not lose the Cotto Fight to Mayweather. So I expect Pac to agree to a catch weight of 150 as well as top any offer that Mayweather may have made in terms of money.
I am not surprised that Maywether offered to fight Cotto at 154 because he is an ATG and that's what ATGs do. He doesn't want to beat his opponents thru unfair advantages on the scale. All he wants is a fair playing field and it's on. And most likey Martinez will be next.

However, don't take the title out of context.....he didn't openly declare Pac was scared of him he just said "he fought Marg at 150 why not me? Is he scared?"
Although does anyone else get the feeling that there's more money on the table for a Pacquiao rematch? If Floyd was offering fair money and was willing to fight him at 154 then why would Miguel even be discussing this?

I don't think it's Manny that fears Cotto. I think its Bob Arum that fears Cotto vs. Manny. At least, he fears Cotto being at a comfortable weight and not dehydrated, sapped, and exhausted from a painful weight cut. All those things could lead to Manny being cashed out early and more interested in politics in the Philippines instead of boxing, and Bob Arum can't and won't risk that... not with his biggest cash cow.

We have to listen to him talking to translate what he said. You know that the way we talk can be misleading. However, he is kind of implying that Pac is not willing to fight him at a comfortable weight for Miguel. I wish they had recorded this interview like most of the time. We know how PH can change what the interviewee is trying to say.
