Just wondering, if both fighters (may and pac) had the same offer on the table, who do you think he would chose?
How do you know Mayweather hasn't offered anything. You don't think Team Cotto has at least a good idea of the kind of deal they'd get to fight Mayweather?

Seems to me that it is Cotto who is really pushing for this rematch in order to avenge his loss. If he wants it that bad but doesnt want to move down, then dont fight him. Fight Floyd instead. Cotto decided to make the move to 154, not Pac.

Theyve been talking for two weeks. Do you really think Cottos people havent discussed the weight with Mayweathers people? I know your a little sinical ******* but be serious man. Put it this way if Cottos people havent talked to Floyds people about the weight it would be pretty ****** on their part.

exactly, Pac won't fight you above 147 so go fight Mayweather or somebody in your weight class. Nobody wants to see Pac-Cotto II

As far as I've read, Floyd has only said that he would consider a catch-weight fight of 150lbs for Cotto, he never said 154lbs. But then again, he's also said that there was no way he'd fight Cotto because he would be accused of 'fighting Pacquiao's left overs'. Is Cotto really even in the Mayweather sweepstakes?? I just don't know. If Floyd fights Cotto at 150lbs, then Floyd's fighting Pac's leftovers at a catchweight, ACCORDING TO FLOYD'S OWN logic (not mine FYI). Two of the biggest things Floyd has criticized Pac for in the past.

IF Floyd does fight Cotto, I highly doubt that it would be at 154lbs. though. IF, and that's a big IF, Floyd fights Cotto, I'm fairly certain it wouldn't be any higher than 150lbs. If he fights Cotto at 154lbs., as someone else suggested, he puts himself in the position of "Why not Sergio at 154lbs?" etc. etc.

I just don't see it happening. Cotto will probably give in the end to a rematch with Pac at 147lbs, but I really hope I'm wrong. I would much rather see Cotto fight Alvarez, but he may end up losing that negotiation to Mayweather. Obviously FMJ and Pac aren't fighting. I doubt FMJ fights Cotto (for above reasons) and Cotto says he's not going to bend to 147lbs for Pac. That means the next highest paying opponent for Cotto or Mayweather is Canelo Alvarez. So in conclusion, if Mayweather gets Alvarez, Cotto will be out of big $$ options. Eventually Cotto will probably end up giving in to Pac at 147lbs, and we end up with a Pac-Cotto rematch anyway - so this could all just be posturing on Cotto's part. Just my 2 cents worth.

It seems like everything pretty much hinges on who Floyd Mayweather chooses as his next opponent. One person we KNOW he won't be fighting is Manny Pacquiao.

Floyd will try to justify it by stating that he's not forcing Cotto to to weigh in at a CW while Pacquiao did.

it is strange that pacquaio is trying to demand a catchweight for this fight again. he was too much for miguel last time, so why not let him have the extra 5 or 6 pounds this time around?

i think it's a much closer fight this time around regardless to be honest - pedro diaz will analyse the **** out of the first fight(as he did in the margarito rematch) and come up with some clever tactics to counter manny's style. i'm not saying miguel wins a rematch, but he comes closer than he did at 145 with joe santiago in his corner(someone who was more of a friend than a cornerman).

props to cotto for standing his ground on the weight issue as well. pacquiao is a hypocrite saying he can't fight at 150 given that he fought there just over a year ago. i'd buy cotto-mayweather if it happened.

if cotto can make pac go up to 150, i think he has a damn good chance of avenging his loss, if he fights like he did against margo. if its at 147, same **** as before, at that point he should just go for floyd. but i totally understand why cotto is chasin pac, hes an honorable guy who wants vengeance, and I personally want him to have it.

supporting cotto since he was comin up!

All things considered, i think it is fairly safe to assume that floyd hasnt offered cotto anything yet. That ball is in mayweathers court.
