After "El Chacal" strengthens his grip on 122, Donaire will have a harder time rationalizing why he shouldn't be fighting Rigo.
Since donaire is going Vazquez jr., Arce, Nishioka

Rigo should go, Ramos(Done), Ndlovu, Marquez

Or he should try and get to Nishioka first

I would be very happy to see Rigo get Nishioka. I wouldn't mind Arce, if Guillermo can get to him first. Even Shimoda wouldn't be bad. Akifumi's still a good fight, despite being caught with a perfect Ramos punch.

Bottom line: Rigondeaux needs to fight any quality fighter with aggressive tendencies. Unfortunately, with Nonito in the mix, everyone will probably prefer to fight him.

I'm almost positive Arce-Donaire is basically a done deal, that's why Arce is fighting some bum/tune up in the mean time. He wouldn't be doing that unless he had a big fight lined up.

Hell, I'd even be happy with a Rigo-Rafael Marquez.

No surprise about Arce. I didn't know Jorge had someone lined up, but I was thinking along those lines when I said that everyone will want Nonito now. If you've got a shot at Donaire, why risk that on a fight with Rigo?

I hesitated to mention Rafa. But if there's nothing better, I'll take it.

Donaire comparing a rigondeaux fight to narvaez? lol nice try man, trying to duck the best fighter at 122 by making such a comparison

Another Narvaez? now that's funny. You just don't want a hungrier fighter whooping your ass.

              Pussy.

Nishioka would probably fight donaire instead of rigondeaux because a fight with donaire would generate more money and would be a better win for him legacy-wise considering donaire is a top p4p'er.

not really fasle of a statement from donaire. after rigondeaux got knocked down against cordoba he began playing it way too safe resulting in a boring fight..just like narvaez did once donaire hurt him. Plus rigondeaux's fight against ramos was boring too because he again played it too safe for most of the fight when he could have easily ended it early had he been more aggressive like in the first round.

He's playing it safe..so what? It's boxing. Once you get a taste of someone's power you go into defensive mode so that it doesn't happen again. Just because he doesn't match your taste doesn't make him a boring fighter.

It's still too early in his career to jump to conclusions, but Rigo has shown a tendency for being too inactive. Being a defensive or counter-punching boxer is fine, but not throwing punches isn't -- by definition -- boxing. Guillermo literally ran around the ring in the second half of his encounter with Cordoba. In the Ramos bout, "El Chacal" was clearly superior and paired with a frightened opponent; yet Rigondeaux literally stared at Rico for long stretches.

At the moment, Guillermo is essentially a poor man's Mayweather. They have comparable skills, but Rigo hasn't yet learned how to engage at the proper times. I agree that styles are a matter of taste, but staring at your opponent, or refusing to exchange, just isn't boxing. Boxing is entertainment. "Winning" isn't entertainment. Winning in exciting fashion is.
