then you have guys like floyd and toney who can fight just as well of the ropes as anywhere else in the ring, so when they have their back to the ropes they might not necessarily be doing poorly yet fans assume that they are. they assume their oponent is in control, landing punches and winning the fight even if thats not the case.

benitez and locche are up there as well

winning a fight on the scorecards is about landing the more effective punches.

you can do that moving// circling backwards, off the ropes, coming forward in a straight line
it doesn't matter, so long as your punches are more effective you win the round.

Floyd's actually been the most hurt while standing in the center of the ring

i had phillip ndou up 6 rounds to 0 before floyd landed a series of lucky punches on ndou and got the tko.

I absolutely agree with the TS. People act as if Victor Ortiz was actually winning the fight towards the end but any knowledgeable boxing fan knows Floyd wasn't in any trouble during that fight. If you've seen all or most of Floyd's fights like I have you would know that he's been pinned against the ropes for longer periods of time than he was against Ortiz and he ALWAYS came out with the victory. The guy's who pressured Floyd the most were also the most likely to get KO'd. I think Floyd has developed this aura of invincibility around him that has people mystified by his skills. That aura combined with the sheer hatred that people have for his personality makes people become excited any time it looks like Floyd might be in trouble.

My Gawd; I don't think people are perceiving how hard that is; shoulder rolling a left hand from a southpaw while backing up into the ropes and counting with a right hand (with that small of a space between the two).... you dont gotta like him... BUT RESPECT THAT SKILL

Mayweather can counter with the best of them. One or those "feel" type of things. You either have have it, or you don't. So, somebody that thinks a guy is getting whopped on the ropes, is actually setting traps. The great ones.

Most people don't pay attention to what they are watching, all they see are the punches thrown.

I am not interested or entertained by it. Biased commentary and flat out wrong blow by blow is unprofessional as far as I'm concerned. This is professional boxing and that type of "entertainment" belongs in the WWF.

Dude people over react when floyd gets jabbed. It confirms his godlike personification.
They hate to admit it but even his haters are surprised when he gets touched.

Floyd does so many little things that are truly amazing you got to slow motion things to see some of the subtle brilliance that he does , his skills is off the scale , no wonder Manny Duckman wants no part of him .
