And, they went through the appropriate channels.
Schaefer contacted retired judge Daniel Weinstein, the agent who acted as intermediary during the official negotiation back in 2009.
Arum replied, via Weinstein, and stated that Top Rank had no interest in discussing a fight with Mayweather as they were whole-heartedly pursuing a fourth match with Marquez.
FACT: Arum knows that GBP will be representing Mayweather
FACT: Arum has also heard of Al Haymon
FACT: Arum is still a lying old shyster
FACT: Pacquiao's band of merry men are still ****** enough to believe Bob Arum

Here is what I find interesting.
Since November of 2011 Team Mayweather has said they want to fight in May, in Las Vegas, against "the little fella"
His stance has never changed. He's called out Pacquiao and always said May 5th is the date, Al Haymond is my guy and GB is gonna be my promoter.
Arum on the other hand has gone from Manny has a bad cut. To May 5th is good for JMM. Back to June. To an outside stadium, to late May, to not answering GB because he doesn't know who promotes Mayweather.
Just ask yourself this: If these were two different fighters. If this was just random fighter A vs random fighter B, who would you blame for the fight not happening?

Arum IMMEDIATELY attempted to close the door on Mayweather, it was his very first act after the fight.
I couldn't believe what I was reading at the time.

Aside from the fact that Top Rank advertizes in Boxingscene, it's so apparent that the interview was staged by the obvious questions and answers of the interview. Alot of people in this forum will not get what Im saying cause their a bunch of pot smoking idiots lol.
I do praise Top Ranks antics. I am not a Bob Arum nut hugger but I do think the old bastard is a brilliant business man. I trully think that from a business perspective, he's telling the truth. Im a business man myself and I get what he's doing. I hope this announcement gets Mayweather to do the right thing and get the fight done in a serious and professional manner.
this right here... these interviews are set up purposely by boxingscene in order to hide the truth in all this....
this whole mess reminds me of when eminem battled the source back in 2003... the source always printed out negative **** about him , meanwhile having benzino doing interviews each month trying to justify him dissing eminem.....
boxingscene is the source, bob arum is benzino..( coencidently both old farts who needed to *** off)...
and fighthype has reported that floyd authorized schaefer to call arum to make the fight, and arum turned them down
fighthype= eminem

Daniel Weinstein, the mediator, sent an email to Schafer saying Arum was not interested in negotiating an Mayweather/Pac fight because he was working on Pac/Marquez IV.
You can play all the games you want. The facts are indisputable: first Arm said he was not interested in the fight. Then, when he started getting flack, he claimed to be talking to investors; and that Pac could not fight until June because of the cut on his head. Then when Mayweather copped a plea, we never heard another word about the investors and suddenly Pac could fight in either May or June and would be available to fight Marquez on May 5. After he jail sentence was delayed to June 1, suddenly Pac's cut opened up again and he couldn't fight until June. When he received flack for that, Arum suddenly needed to build a stadium that wouldn't be ready until late May.
The entire time Arum has been making all of these excuses, he has not had one conversation with anyone from Mayweather's camp about staging the fight. He knows who is representing Mayweather. It is the same guy who tried to initiate negotations with him in November -- Richard Schafer. Yet he is continuing to spin this B.S. and people like you and the operators of this site continue to buy it.
On another note, I can promise you this. If Pac fights Marquez in June, Arum won't have any problem with the MGM Grand or Richard Schafer or Al Haymon or giving Mayweather the lion's share of the purse. Why! Because Marquez will finish what he started and will KO Pacquaio. After that, Arum will be burning up Schaefer and Haymon's phones trying to negotiate a fight with Mayweather.

Like all great fighters, Manny has pride. And when that pride was called into question by Floyd's twitters, Manny had to react with heart and demand a fight with Floyd. What else could he do?
Now, Arum is trying to find excuses for not making the fight so he can blame it Floyd and avoid the shame to Manny.
But if the fight is not made, shame on Manny.
