I know Arum is true on what he says, but if you can't make the fight cause Floyd doesn't want it and only bluffing please give us at least Bradley and not Cotto. Please look after the fans because without the fans boxing is nothing.
Judge Saragosa: "Punishment is appropriate," Sentencing Mayweather to 90 days in Jail, sentence set to begin Jan. 6.
Bob Arum: "I'm not married to May 5th, so Manny could fight on another date in May. If Manny's opponent is Marquez, I'd be married to the date"
Judge Saragosa: "Mr. Mayweather has an obligation to this court, but given the fact that Mr. Mayweather has these obligations, I am going to grant your request." Referring to fight obligations for May 5th date and postponing jail time to June 1st. This occurred the day Floyd was to commence his Jan 6 Jail sentence.
Floyd Mayweather: "Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see. My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk."
Mann Pacquiao: "I am meeting with my promoter, Bob Arum on Tuesday and I will insist that the fight with Mayweather be given the preference than the four others in the list I will fight next. That I will abide by his demand for drug testing. I am even agreeable to get lesser purse just so the fight would push through. In other words, as far as my side is concerned, there will be no problem"
Bob Arum: “Manny has a severe cut, which Pacquiao suffered in a November win over Juan Manuel Marquez, which would prohibit the Filipino star from fighting until late spring, at the earliest.”
Bob Arum: "They are not going to get him [Cotto].”Arum also doesn’t appear to want Mayweather fighting one of his guys WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.
Micheal Koncz: "Why would I tell Manny to fight on the 5th and throw away a percentage of 30 million? That’s crazy,” Referring to a new temporary stadium being built just for a potential Mayweather - pacquiao fight.
Freddy Roach:"They do take time to heal, but I don't think that's a big issue, to be honest with you," Roach said, recalling how during his boxing career he suffered three cuts in a fight, each of which needed about eight stitches, and fought a month later. He also said Pacquiao would be OK to fight May 5
Bob Arum: "I want to hear Mayweather is willing to fight on June 9th, and then we can put a fight together between him and Pacquiao"
Jinkee Pacquiao:“He wants Cotto.” she told philstar.com referring to Manny's decision when he met with Arum regarding his next opponent.
Bob will BS any dumbass willing to listen to him. It's quite simple. This fight is very easy to make but it won't happen because Top Rank doesn't wanna lose. Manny would make more off this one fight than he has in his last 4 fights which clearly says they are afraid to lose it all by fighting Floyd.
Lol give it up, we will never know how good your beloved Pacquiao is because he won't fight the best competition available, even when it's sitting right in front of him. So keep living behind Top Rank and Arum, see where it gets you. Eventually you will realize it's a big sham.
Nah, spoonwars will not, the dude is a serious *******. Nope, Mayweather will clean Manny up, and that idiot will disappear, but he will not "realise" anything.
You have to give it to Bob Arum he sure can twist things up.
The only problem is this time its not working, most people have already caught on to what he is doing.
Again this is a guy who first said Pacquiao could not fight until June because of his cut.
--When Mayweather was suppose to go to jail, Arum says that he wants to propose a Pacquiao/JMM IV fight on Cinco de Mayo.
--Then Mayweather's sentence is suspended, and suddenly Pacquiao's cut is a problem again.
--Pacquiao says his cut is no problem so now its an outside stadium that is the problem.
--Then it has to be at the end of May. Something that makes no sense, because it is not as if May 5th is an arbitrary date, May 5th is a huge boxing date. Its the reason Mayweather wanted that date months ago, and Arum wanted it for JMM/Pacquiao.
--Today the latest is that he will not negotiate with GB because they don't have a contract with Mayweather. Even though GB has been his promoter the past 5 fights.
-- Tomorrow it will be that Mayweather wants too much a guarantee, even though Mayweather doesn't operate on a guarantee. He takes the risk on his PPVs.
This is so ridiculous even the most hardcore Arum and Pacquiao defenders have to see through this bull****. It is making Manny Pacquiao look foolish even though the guy probably is concentrating more on politics than this circus that Bob has created.
And how many times has this fight been discussed between promotions and a fallout occurs because of the split, or the blood testing, or the timing, or the location, or some other crap? Eventually it gets old hearing the same things, and it seems like every excuse comes from one side of the table. That's the only point I'm trying to make. It seems like Mayweather is trying to make the fight, he loves money so why would he not want a payoff of this caliber? The blame can get pushed both ways but Arum does himself no favors with his obvious excuses.
You gotta admit, the blood testing and location is not a factor now, but the timing (which is currently within one month). It is old, yes, so what. You say Mayweather's trying to make the fight, but Arum's recent words should also be in the same ballpark of "excuses." Floyd has to respond to Arum's one question he made in the article as it takes two to tango. The sooner, the better.
So when Mayweather avoided Cotto and Margarito during those time they were a draw was not a good business move? I call it ducking in its purest form.
What has Floyd has to offer to the public except his 0. When his 0 goes away, his PPV's will drop significantly. He ain't an exciting fighter. What he sells to the public is his 0. People watch him to get defeated but they are bored with his style.
Floyd has more to lose in the Pac fight. If Pac loses, I bet ya many will still watch his PPV's.
So who's ducking who?
Lol of course they will still watch Manny's PPVs because he is an exciting fighter and he has lost before. If Mayweather loses people aren't suddenly going to decide they don't want to watch him fight anymore. I agree that Floyd has more to lose, because he has trashed Pacquiao and Co. verbally countless times and has the perfect record, but I don't think you are right about his fighting style.
He is a defensive master, and many people enjoy watching his style of head-movement, rolling, and countering. Different people enjoy different styles, but it's not like Mayweather has no likability with the fans, he has speedy reflexes and the capability to KTFO with his counters, thats why people have been supporting him for years.
I don't consider him not fighting them ducking, his promoters decided that they had better fights available even if someone else may be a better draw. Pacquiao's camp has done the same thing countless times, thats why Pacquiao has fought Marquez 3 times but still won't negotiate with Bradley. Promoters do it all the time, and Arum is guilty as sin. I don't believe Money is ducking the fight, and I don't think Pacquiao is afraid either. I believe it is Arum's greed and desire to keep making money that won't let this fight happen. Until Pacquiao's draw ability diminishes significantly, Arum would rather Manny fight and defeat the same fighters than risk his P4P status and worldwide fame.
