I would like Cotto to fight Martinez I believe Cotto has a great chance. Martinez defense is his speed and Cotto has proven in various fights that his timing is on point to outbox people that are faster. I can't see Martinez running him down like Margo or Pac. Too many Cotto haters and too many people thinking Martinez is a god. Don't get me wrong he is good but people rank him over Marquez, and even Ward at this point it's absurd.

Cotto gets beaten by Martinez, he's too slick for Cotto.
Just because someone doesn't think Cotto can't beat the elite fighters, doesn't mean we are hating on Cotto.

See here's the thing. Miguel Cotto has earned the right to fight the elite fighters in the sport. Hold on you boxing purists I know what your thinking. He hasn't fought this guy or that guy in his weight class and you would be correct. What he has done is win fights and made a name for himself along the way.
The boxing game has changed. While we all clamor to see the best fight the best and watch promoters hold on to their fighters as though they were hostages. We miss out on good fights regardless of anyone's opinion of the fighters.
What Hopkins, De La Hoya and Mayweather learned along the way was how to put a bigger chunk of that green into their own pockets and rightfully so. They are the ones taking the meaningful risks.
Win loose or draw Miguel Cotto brings it to each and everyone of his fights and has earned whats coming to him. The big dance and the big bucks. Does he beat this guy or loose to that one ? He's prideful and he brings it. Good enough for me !!!

Yes I agree with you there. There are better fights out there rather than a rematch with a guy who he pretty much dominated. I'd rather Pac met the guys you mentioned or Bradley TBH.
Cotto isnt an elite p4p superstar but he isnt far off. Arum knows he sells well so he has been matched well and got where he has got. Did he do himself justice in the Pac fight? I dont think so personally, I think he could do better if he employed the right tactics but still come out the loser in the end so as you say its probably pointless.

if cotto ended up beating martinez floyd or pacquiao they'd find something to ***** about.
