Anthony Ward about to get ko'ed!

You don't know what Anthony Dirrell fights like on the inside. As athletic as Dirrell is, he's very stiff. Fight's flat-footed, doesn't throw in combination as often as his brother and his chin is largely untested. Andre Ward is battle tested. That's all I'm saying. Is it possible Anthony can win? Yes, maybe. But he certainly hasn't fought anyone to convince me for certain that he would.

I agree he doesnt have any big names on his record. But dont just look for names. Look for styles, thats how you recognize talent and abilty. Also Anthony doesnt have to throw combos, hes an accurate counter puncher. He doesnt waist energy like Ward does. His chin is not a problem going against feather fisted Ward. Andre ward isnt battled tested either. Lets see how he responds when hes getting caught with counters thats hurting him. Lets see how he responds to clean effective hard body shots. Lets see how he responds when someone cuts the ring off and corner him, forcing him to exchange and hes not landing but getting rocked in return. Then you can say hes battle tested.

I am looking at styles. And Dirrell is ultra talented, hits very hard, and has fast hands and reflexes. He's also stiff, flat-footed, chin hasn't been tested, hasn't shown in-fighting skills and doesn't throw combinations - which would be an issue against Ward. You need to look at the good and the bad.

what has anthony dirrell done to make you or anyone else believe he can beat ward? Like Imdazed said, have him beat a ranked contender then we can talk. Until then, as far as I'm concerned the only dirrell worth a damn is andre dirrell, as he's proven he's a top fighter at 168.


and LOL @ andre ward having a glass jaw. If he's so open to be hit like you said, and if he truly had a glass jaw he wouldn't be undefeated right now. He wouldn't have been able to go through froch, abraham, bika, & kessler with a glass jaw. Ward is a proven fighter, anthony dirrell is not.

Lets see if he accepts his mandatory or give up his belt. Either way the answer will be clear whos the victor!

ts probably only saw anthony dirrel fought once against that st juste guy. dirrel ktfo him...big deal. st juste is like 40 years old and looks more like a mw than a super mw...don't even know what you can see in that fight that could give dirrel a legit chance against ward.

Dirrell can defintley cause Ward problems but he needs to have a few big fights to get used to the big stage & most importantly fight some fighters that will test him on the inside, you going to need that fighting Ward.

The Matrix will be the 1 to run the SMW division by the end of 2012 though.

Put him in there with a world class elite fighter and he will not look special at all. He's got potential, but still too green atm.
