Was Barrera shot when he changed his style? He had no heart because he didn't stand toe to toe w/Hamed?

He got his ass kicked and decided that he wanted to prolong his career so he brawled less.

    Same thing.
its not even remotely the same thing. barrera realized he wasnt made of stone and could get knocked out or plain lose if he didnt fight more skillfully so he adapted his style. but he was still the same warrior, he changed his style but his heart was still the same and he didnt quit or look for a way out when things got rough.

cotto does. cotto hasnt simply changed his style, his heart isnt in it anymore to the degree it was earlier in his career. that he boxes more is a good thing, the bad thing is that when the boxing doesnt work and he starts getting caught he starts running and looks for a way out.

the change of style aint got **** to do with it. terrible, terrible comparison on your part. i never said cotto doesnt have heart bcuz he boxes, he doesnt have heart bcuz he quits.

MAB vs Pac 1 and 2?

I'm a huge Barrera fan, btw.

I like Cotto, always have! I wouldn't say he's shot but I would say he's definitely past his best. Not what he once was. The beat downs he took against Manny and Marg did a lot on him psychologically eventhough only one was valid.

the beating MAB took against pacquiao isnt comparable to the one shot pac landed on cotto that had him running for the rest of the fight.

**** that Luis Castillo is the definition of shot lol Cotto isn't no where near that.

First at all ! I put my money on Cotto over Marquez . Style make fights and doesn't mean Marquez gonna beat Cotto cause he give problems to Manny . I believe Cotto still a lot in the tank. He took a lot of punishment with Margarito , Clottey and Manny and all that punishment took something from him but he can still beat a lot of guys out there . What happen with Cotto is that he make a lot of big mistakes when he was in his prime. When he fought Margo all the **** with he's uncle and the wrong game plan plus the plaster give him his 1st lost . And the big mistake of his career was fight with Clottey and Manny with no Corner. A guy name Joe Santiago ? Cotto was in the Clottey fight with a big gash in his left eye for 9 rounds. A good corner will have stop that fight in 5 round and Cotto would have won that fight easy cause he won like 4 or the first 5 plus the knock down instead they let him go all the way and he took unnecessary punishment . And he fought Manny after that fight with Joe Santiago in his corner , the wrong game plan and weight drained. He avenge 1 of his lost already and now he has a good trainer in his corner with more confidence after beating Margo and I bet he is ready to fight anybody . Will see !

cotto cant perform against anyone once he gets hit on the chin. takes just one punch and his heart melts inside his chest. not comparable to MAB.

You're not making any sense here.

You are hereby accused of being an undercover Marg stan.

He isn't. He looked as good in his last fight as he EVER has - fact. Especially considering he was up against Margarito, who - whatever you want to say about him - is bigger than Cotto, strong as an ox, relentless and a solid puncher (even if he is on the downward slope). Cotto looked fast, strong, was landing quick, crisp counterpunches, excellent bodyshots.... I don't know what more people want.

Also, he's taken some flak for who he has been fighting the past couple of years, but Clottey (regardless of his defeat to Pacquiao) was another big, strong, top-level welterweight and Foreman was an unbeaten titlist. He also destroyed a Mayorga who looked in virtually career-best shape.

I don't know about shot, but I doubt he has the same punch resistance he had pre-Margarito 1. Still a great fighter and a good man.
