it's literally now or never for the big fight. It's already 2 years past it's use by date. If floyd goes to jail in june, he gets out around september, no time for a fight before the holiday season.

To me this shows that Floyd does want the fight. If he was trying to duck the fight this sentence was the perfect excuse. The fact that he had his team request the deferment specifically for the fight date shows he wants it. Most likely he knows that if it doesn't happen now it won't be as big and his skills will start to decline soon.
The ball is now in Manny's.....er Arum's court.
