^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ fans like this are the reason boxing is losing ground to ufc as a sport,,,, this whole mismatch bull that your talkin is the reason no history is being made anymore i bet tyson vs buster douglas was a mismatch on paper too,,berto vs ortiz was a mismatch(an undeafeated fighter against a known quitter) peterson vs kahn was a mismatch your opinion is of a know it all hater,,dont ruin boxing you sound like larry merchant
Wait are you suggesting we should have more mismatches to boost the sport of boxing for the off chance that a miracle were to happen?
Sure there have, but not currently in America. No one is doing those numbers in a bull**** fight on the other side of the country from where the majority of his fanbase is in all while going head to head with a live HBO WCB.
I literally can't name one other fighter going right now that can pull that off(outside of Pac and Floyd obviously)....closest would be Marquez, but not even he can pull those numbers I don't think. There were like 4,000 people at the Katsidis fight.
Yea but put Marquez in Mexico and see what he does. Look at the Diaz fight and others. If you count PPV in total, Marquez dominates Cotto. That is with the 100% possibility that you can watch any Mexican fight on Mexican Television and here(if you have spanish channels) for free. Another one that does good on this soil is Amir Khan who is British(not counting PPV).
As for people talking about Floyd vs Cotto, I think the fight may be years too late but Cotto in my opinion has the style to give Floyd the best fight possible. Now if Floyd is the one pressing the action, Cotto will get murked.
cotto fought: clottey, pacman, margaritotwice, juhdah, mosley, mayorg a,quintana, foreman,,,,,,quintana and foreman were undefeated champions when they fought cotto
mayweather fought: mosley,de la hoya,hatton(not a welter),marquez(not a welter),baldomir
im not discrediting what floyd did at 140, jus sayin he aint fight any worthy comp at 147,154
Quintana wasn't a champion. And, Floyd has a better resume than Cotto does at WW. Also Cotto doesn't have any win at 154 as good as Floyd win over Oscar at 154.
What are you even trying to argue right now? You making it seem to say Cotto>Floyd and you call yourself a Floyd fan

Of course, how does he not? Pac and Margarito were too much of a beatdown for me to give Cotto credit for those losses. I respect him taking those fights but he doesn't get credit for getting beat down in losses.
Cotto might have the better single win, maybe with Mosley, maybe. But, Floyd has the overall better depth in quality wins than what Cotto has at WW.

Wonder how a thread poll would be if you were to make one on who has a better resume between the two.

Stop it J R, you are a boxing fan and if Cotto/Floyd gets done you are watching.
If you know already you watch what you get and you never know what is going to happen
