I want to like Canelo but the last couple of fights he has disappointed me. I know he's young and he will get better and better (he has the skills and I love his patience and precision) but I don't see him beating either Cotto or Kirkland right now. I would love for either fight to happen but I think his people have felt the same thing I have his last couple of fights and will hold off on top-tier talent for now.Comment

Both are very winnable for Canelo IMO. Kirkland might present more problems I think, and it's not set in stone he's not going to get outboxed by Molina (I hope not, really wanna see the kid in a huge fight). Canelo-Kirkland is very intriguing.
Cotto-Canelo is the bigger event, but Miguel is Arum's second favorite lap dog, he's not going to fight out of the Top Rank stable anytime soon, let alone against a young bull from another promotional company that most likely whoops him.Comment

Dejavu.... When a young Vargas (a much better champion that Alvarez) decided to challenge Trinidad (perceived smaller, vulnerable) when the kid just turned 21!
At the time, the pundits were sure that the youth, heart and strength of Vargas were going to overcome the experience and older fighter. We all know the results of the WAR and the decline of the best 154lbs Mexico has produced.
If Mini-Cotto was able to hurt the young champion.... if Cintron was able to connect and if Hatton was able to survive..... history will repeat itself.Comment
