It's funny now that Cotto beats a one eyed, shot Margarito in a bogus ref stoppage, he's on top of the world. Cotto has been in too man wars and would lose to a young and upcomer like Canelo at this point. Fans really want to believe he's still the Cotto of old who was a beast, hate to break it to y'all but that Cotto is long gone. This guy has been fathered by Margarito and Pacquiao in BEATDOWNS, not to mention he went life and death with Clottey. Canelo wins this no doubt.

I agree that Cotto's win over Margarito is very overrated.

Not sure if Cotto is a live enough opponent to beat Canelo at this point in his career but one thing I do know is he has the power to hurt him based on what I seen in the Marg fight, I've never seen Cotto hit that hard before. Canelo v Kirkland gona b a Frikin WAR!!!! Yes yes i know Canelo is unproven still but he has shown hes skill level at JMW for a fighter hes age the guy is so young but he has a boxing IQ of a veteran fighter. to me Canelo beats Kirkland cuz of hes very solid boxing skill speed movement and he has preety good defeence as well overall very solid.people over here saying kirkland has power what about Canelo punching power :lmao: the kid can really punch and the guy is a great body puncher him self..Cotto would b interesting but im picking Canelo at 154lb either any of these guys..still Kirkland aint cake walk for any fighter!! yes Any fighter!! the dude is tough as frikin nails

Canelo was looking for an oxygen tank in between the 3rd and 4th round of the Cintron fight, plus he has nothing that can give Cotto problems. Cotto would eat him alive and give him a sound beating.

Cotto got enough power to hurt Canelo no doubt, but Canelo has enough pop to hurt Cotto to. Cotto isnt a big puncher at 154 though and I think in order to really hurt Canelo he needs to put his punches together in combos which I dont see happening. He might be able to pot shot Canelo for the first six rounds, but once the wear and tear sets in after those rounds Canelo should take over and lay it on him. I doubt Cotto will ever fight Canelo though, he is probably going to rematch Pacquiao or he will be set up with Delvin Rodriguez in NY which would actually be a good fight.
