So ref-assisted suck-punching is ok, but making a frivolous comment outside the ring isn't? this is nonsense, fighters say worse things than this all the time and are usually encouraged to do so.

Victor Ortiz is a dumb ass. This is the same guy who said after he quit against Maidana "I'm too young to get beat up like this". He has no kind of common sense whatsoever. I frankly think it is good that Kizer makes an example out of Ortiz for saying that nonsense because if he doesn't then other fighters could feel it's all gravy and do the same ****. Dude admitted to trying to break Mayweather's nose and you guys are on here like this is ok? Funny how Ortiz headbutting Mayweather on purpose and admitting that he intentionaly tried to break his nose is no big deal but Mayweather gets crucified for knocking him out with two legal punches that he deserved for not keeping his hands up. Forget ******* because hating is one hell of a drug.

What is there to explain. He says he tried to break his nose. It doesnt get any simpler than that.

Maybe so. But here's the thing that 95% of folks missed. There was an interview that Kizer had, not too long after the fight... via Boxing Insider.

Keith Kizer: All I can tell you is, I was at the fight…I had no problem with how the fight ended. The only problem I had with the fight was somebody head-butting another person intentionally in the 4th round, and I have a big problem that, and I still have a big problem with that. That’s a shame there are people out there trying to make excuses for Mr. Ortiz‘ behavior.

So this guy stated a long time ago, that he has a very big problem with that headbutt. But clearly most people missed that memo, most of all Ortiz. And then here comes this video where he freely admits that the headbutt was premeditated and not spur of the moment out of frustration. That video definitely pushed Kizer over the edge.

It reminds me of when Roy Keane that challenges on Haland ( Manchester derby) initially he received a 3 match ban but they gave him another 5 and fined him over 150k because he stated that his intent was to actually cause damage.

Boxing fans are hypocritical, they moan about how the sport isn't regulated like other sports but seem to think fighters should be given discretion that athletes in other sports would not receive.

You are one of the least intelligent posters here. And that's saying something. The fact that you ignore an intentional head butt for your agenda speaks for itself.

I really didn't like a Vic's comments and I'm a huge fan, I mean even if you did try to intentionally do it why admit it? Nobody likes dirty fighters especially one that boats about it after doing it. But in perspective, this is Ortiz, a true oddball who is known to make some off the wall comments.

So it's really no big deal right? Ortiz just issues an apology and says he was misunderstood and problems solved right?
