Secondly, I don't recall hearing Showtime saying Bute would fight the winner of the SS. If they did, shame on them; that's absurd.
Cloud the light heavy, I dont see why Cloud would drop down when he is working his way to the top dogs at lhw..

Low balled Pavlik? Pavlik pulled a completely bone headed move and dropped out of the fight saying he was getting 'peanuts' even though it was like 1.3 mil. And Bute eventually fought Johnson so I dont see the problem there, as for Kessler I dont know the situation well enough to comment on it.

As for Showtime they believe Bute vs. SS winner to be the biggest fight in SMW, possibly the history of SMW. I dont see why it would be absurd for Showtime wanting the winner of the SS against Bute.

I can see why people are criticising Dirrell for faking getting knocked out against Abraham, because Bute was actually genuine when he got knocked out against Andrade. Credit to him for that, what a great fighter.

Had Bute fought and beaten Pavlik that would have been his biggest career win by far.

A man that had fought twice above middleweight, got his ass kicked once and looked like **** against a journeyman.

That should about sum it up.

People are also jumping all over the fact that Pavlik was offered a whopping 1.3 mill. Sure it's a lot of money but Pavlik's name is what would have made that fight sell. Pavlik's name would have taken Bute's career to a new level, and Pavlik was the one traveling to a place where he stood little chance of a fair shake from the officials and judges I believe 1.3 million was in fact a lowball offer.

Pavlik of course had no leverage and no other offers on the table so he accepted. I agree Pavlik was a punk for backing out after signing a contract. However, had he just turned down the offer up front I would have respected the decision.

            Very nice.

Watching Bute try to make it back to his corner at the end of the first Andrade fight was utterly hilarious.

Wait and see what kind of pathetic offers Bute's team will put on the table for fights against dangerous opponents like the Dirrells.

Bute had an excuse with the Super 6 going on but now it is put up or shut up time.

Dirrell would need at least 2 million for him to go to Montreal. After all fighters deserve a 30-40% premium if they are going to have to fight in an arena filled with French speaking f@ggots.

Okay, I see BoxingScene has its newest troll and it's this dumbass above. First off there were no medical reports that firmly stated that Dirrell suffered bleeding on the brain to the extent that he couldn't continue on in the Super 6. You're a moron if you think otherwise as Showtime would have opened themselves up to not only a criminal lawsuit, but also a 9 figure civil lawsuit if that was the case. No troll, this "psychological damage" thing happened months later when it was time for Dirrell & Ward to settle on a site and venue etc. Anyone that follows Boxing will remember Dirrell was at Ward's fight (not but a few weeks after Dirrell/AA) and spoke very lucidly on how he would beat Ward by keeping distance, angles etc. So keep throwing **** at a wall, Mr. Troll. Hopefully one of your troll replies will stick...but I seriously doubt it.

Dirrell needs to be put on ice and constrained to 8 or 10 rd fights like the Friday Night Fights variety, and then after putting some rounds and work in then he can challenge for a world strap...preferably after 3 or 4 non-title fights. Basically we need to see how bad the kid wants a shot at redeeming his tarnished name vs. giving him a golden parachute to drop immediately back onto the biggest stage(s).
                  I agree with this

Bute is protected. Then again so were Kessler and Calzaghe for a while. I can see Froch, Ward, Kessler giving Bute problems. He needs to fight one of those guys. He'd knock Dirrell out.
