A slugger is someone who routinely is willing to trade punches in order to land his own. Frazier, Marciano, Basilio and the likes are sluggers, not guys like the Klitschkos.

Slugging is slugging. Home Run or nothing...
Not necessarily.... when you're striking out.. you're NOT adding anything to the slugging%

Singles.. doubles.. triples all do the job to get that run home & essentially add to the slugging %.... if you're just swinging for the fences... you had better make sure every punch lands & hits it's target.. The ONLY reason I have Tyson high up on the list despite him being a onedimensional do or die homerun hitter is that he got you out of there sometimes with the first or second punch he threw of the fight.. but when he wasn't doing that. he wasn't adding to his slugging % & wearing you down with effective punches throughout a fight.

Horrible list really. Do you even know what a slugger is?

Julio Cesar Chavez is the first that comes to mind. I'd put his picture as the definition of slugger.

Brawling is ONLY one dimension of slugging.... are you being effective while doing so.. are you getting hit in return so as to reduce the effect your punches had on your opponent.. all of that has to be taken into context.. Perhaps you can say Wlad doesn't fit your meaning of slugging but Vitali certainly does.. since he's CONSTANTLY throwing hard punches at his opponent & also rarely getting hit in the process.. that's why you'd have to say Vitali has the highest &most effective slugging % for anyone who's fought 200 lbs & over... Object is to hit your opponent & Not GET hit in return...all of this has to be taken into account.. part of slugging is also not being slugged in return & nobody does that better than Vitali Klitschko... ofcourse I know the Lewis bout is the exception as Vitali got hit in return.

If we are just talking about heavyweight then Dempsey, Marciano,Frazier, Foreman, Tyson,Tua and Vitali are the best at brawling

Admit that it's ONLY horrible because you see the last name Klitschko there twice..... as i'm sure most of the other ones you'd justify on a sluggers list & yes SLUGGING means knockouts.. it's a combination of things.. so why is the list so off.. JCC was a flyweight & would get swatted by anyone on that list.. perhaps i should've added Strongest & most POWERFUL next to sluggers.

Holyfield should be mentioned in any type of toe to toe action at heavyweight.. in fact no one was better at putting unanswered combinations together once he got it going than Holy.
