Who has a better resume at welterweight, Floyd or Pacquiao?

Are we talking just the names on the résumé or the manner of the wins?
I thought Cotto looked good early on against Pacquiao, so I hold that fight as Manny's best. I also think Pacquiao did well against Margarito given the way Margarito kept coming forward and forward and forward. He was punch perfect against Oscar, but given Oscar's manner in the ring maybe we should discount that. And neither Clottey nor Mosley gave anything against Pacquiao, though Clottey still managed to bruise Pacquiao a bit.
Floyd was masterful against both Mosley (who was much better against Floyd than he was against Manny) and Marquez; and he was very good against Hatton, who I thought actually performed like an undefeated fighter in the first six rounds or so. Judah is a good name and still had good footwork in 2006, so I respect that win, especially with how the first three rounds went; and my wife likes Ortiz so... *zip*
It's close. I don't know. Probably Manny by a hair. Floyd will still beat Manny when they fight though - he's a better fighter.Comment

Pacquiao fans are acting as if Cotto is still fresh and that Mosley is the only one who is shot. Since the Pacquiao fight Cotto has fought Yuri Foreman, Ricardo Mayorga, and Antonio Margarito. Mosley knocked out Two out of three of those guys and would most likely annihilate Yuri Foreman even now. I'd say the Mosley win for Floyd is greater than the Cotto win for Pacquiao for a couple of reasons. Pacquiao fought Cotto at a catchweight and Cotto wasn't even the number 1 welterweight in the world. We also have to acknowledge Cotto had been in two physically arduous fights coming into the Pacquiao fight. Mosley was the number one welterweight in the world and Floyd fought him at the welterweight limit of a 147 lbs. Mosley was also coming off a spectacular performance against Margarito while Cotto barely survived his fight against Clottey.
Mayweather has had more fights at 147, beat more champions at 147, and beat more number 1s at 147. So how is Pacquiao's welterweight resume better than Floyd's considering Pacquiao came thisclose to losing his WBO belt against a 38 year old light weight just last month?Comment

Come on. Floyd best win Mosley was Cottos left over who got beat by Pacquaio. Floyd almost got knocked out by Mosley while Pac beat him in one sided fashion. You discredit Pacquaio win over Cotto even though he moved up 5 lbs and Cotto had 5 months to safely shred those extra 1 lbs. Ironically, you gave Floyd all the credits when he made two smaller fighters to come in his own weight division without giving some sort of levelling field. In fact, he weight cheated one of those guy.Pacquiao fans are acting as if Cotto is still fresh and that Mosley is the only one who is shot. well considering Floyd has a win over Marquez at WW, and Manny has a loss to Marquez at WW should really end this debate quite quickly.Comment

But ODH at 154>Cotto at 145 so Floyds resume is better then Pacquiao.Cotto > all Floyd wins at welterweight and you know Pac destroyed Cotto.
Cotto > bum Mitchell
Cotto tko Judah > Floyd UD
Cotto > journeyman Baldomir
Cotto > shot past prime Oscar
Cotto > light welterweight Hatton
Cotto > Floyd weight cheated lightweight Marquez
Cotto UD the younger Mosley > Floyd almost got koed by 38 year old Mosley
Cotto > Floyd won by sucker punching Ortiz
After the Pac fight, Cotto won his next 3 fights and got another belt in higher division. I don't know why Floyd fans ****ting on Pacquiaos welterweight resume while their idol Floyd is so much worst.Comment

I can tell you are not a boxing fan and just a Pacquiao fan. This post is the perfect example of a triangle theory. For your information Cotto and Mosley landed the exact same number of punches and Cotto only beat Mosley by two rounds according to the judges score cards. Mosley annihilated Margarito while Cotto was humiliated by Margarito. Mayweather beat the guy who completely embarrassed Cotto. So yes the win over Mosley is better than the win over Cotto. Also take into account when Mayweather fought Mosley. Because when they fought matters just as much as who they fought.Comment
