So barker does ok against medicore fighters, pretty much gets blown out by Sergio and now he'd beat everyone short of Sergio? In less the 5 rounds nontheless?

    Yea ok buddy

I genuinely believe he beats anybody at middle except Sergio & maybe Golovkin. He dealt with Spada better than anybody ever has before including Oral, Zbik who gave Chavez Jr hell & that was after a long lay off. He fought a great fight against Sergio until he was stopped. Barker is a solid all round fighter!
Very good technically! A very intelligent boxer.

The U.K has a very good middleweight division, sure we may have lost a lot of fights last year but lets be real the guys was classed as domestic bums & gave no chance...
Macklin & Murray both got robbed vs Sturm, Barker really stretched Sergio, then we Andy Lee Irish/brit & Proska who is British based pole.

Who apart from Sergio & maybe Golovkin beats Barker?
He'd tax Chavez Jr's ass & most of the paper champs IMO

He'd spank Sturm as well but he'd need a K.O just to get a draw!

How about Belghecham, nobody beats him easily? Not at the EBU level anyway. You seem to be placing a premium at one quality, his Britishness.

First of all Zbik beat Spada more convincingly so i dont know what youre talking about

Second of all you're comparing triangle theories of mediocre fighters neither of which are even in the top 20 in the MW division to back your point that barker would beat any MW except sergio

He never at all & also has a loss to Spada which is legit. Spada landed nothing on Barker & was thoroughly outboxed. Barker had been out for some time & made Spada look awful in a fight the judges really did flatter Spada.
Tell me who but Sergio & maybe Golovkin beats Barker?

Better still what are you basing all this on considering most of the top 10 middles don't even have the resume Barker does...

I def agree Martinez is overhyped a bit, but he did fight Williams when he was at his peak and......lost. So I don't see why we would question Williams' quality as a fighter since he actually beat Martinez. It's got to count as a quality fight at the very least and the KO in the rematch should count as something significant, since he was avenging a loss to someone who had never been KOed.

Pavlik may seem a little less impressive because of Kelly's personal life, but like you said Sergio didn't quite look unbeatable against whatever version of post Bhop alcoholic Pavlik that was.

Pavlik did come on a bit toward the mid to late rounds, but Martinez didn't quite let him steal momentum before going back to clinical work. I still think he's being overrated with regards to a Chavez Jr matchup because of what's actually happened during his fights with Williams I, Margarito, Pavlik where he was pressured and knocked down in all three bouts...either because of massive pressure, inside fighting, or because he was exhausted. I think Chavez Jr has a style that could give problems to Sergio, but he's a grown azz man and I'm starting to think he will be too strong mentally and physically to let Chavez get the crowd behind him and pull off the upset.

He was commonwealth & Euro champion, out for 18 months and could of taken an easy fight but he fought Spada who is a tough, rugged guy &boxed his lugholes off. He then went and fought arguably the world p4p No3 boxer, nobody gave Barker a cat in hells chance of seeing the second half of the fight & Barker made it to the 11th in a decent, competitive chessmatch.

Just give Sergio his due & Barker. Bet if either was Ukranian you would be though.

Dude Barker stepped up twice to the EBU level, and barely sc****d by. Other than his spirited yet overwhelming loss to the champ, what else is there?

Who beats him, these guys: Sergio, GG, Pirog, Quillin. Likely Geale, NJikam, Proksa, Lee. Sturm, Rubio are 50-50. Even Macklin could beat him. Abraham, Taylor if back at middle. Finally, Chavez probably beats him given that his people have been looking at a Barker fight for a while, and they are extremely risk averse. He's only getting better too.

Thats right Euro champ. ONCE. Plus he barely beat the guys

He had a relatively close fight with spada too, there was no complete blow out that youre referring too.

He then went and get pummeled by sergio. Tell who he has a better resume then in the top 10.

PLus the only Ukrainian fighters i support are the Klitschkos

Pirog has a punchers chance, Quillin - maybe. The rest Barker schools, only fight I see him losing potentially out of them is against Sturm via hometown robbery!

IMO Barker is much better than Macklin. If Barker didn't stop Chavez Jr he'd get robbed as well & how is he getting better? He threw about 40 punches against Manfredo & landed 2 cuffing shots, got beaten to a pulp by Zbik. In 45 fights he is only just approaching world level & he likely gets iced by Rubio who has been successful yet is very limited.

It's extremely hard to believe Rubio is still only 31, he's more like a shopworn 41 yr old. That said he probably stops Chavez Jr
