Ward was born in America which makes him American. Ward is a black american just like Kelly Pavlik is a white american. Both just plain old Americans of different colors.

You have a Brit against a talented but not very exciting African American, for the most part outside of Floyd the African Americans haven't been getting much fan following like in the past.

Not nearly as sad as mexicans packing the house to see sorry fighters like chavez jr and alvarez.

Unlike mexicans...African Americans aren't limited to a couple of sports and weight divisions.

Black boxers have to contend with other stars from other sports...mexicans don't have nearly as many sports stars..
