    Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. vs Martinez Purse Bid Set By The WBC For 1/6

    BoxingScene.com has been advised that the World Boxing Council have scheduled a mandatory purse bid for the middleweight fight between WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and the Diamond champion Sergio Martinez. The WBC issued letters informing all of the required parties to appear at their headquarters in Mexico on January 6th. Last Thursday, the WBC ordered Chavez to defend his title against Martinez. Chavez is scheduled to return on February 4th, likely against Marco Antonio Rubio, while Martinez has a return date of March 17th.

                      Chavez Jr prob vacates then fights Pavlik for a 168 lb belt once Ward is made Super champion.
