Sergo Martinez is the truth and I don't see no one beating him at 154 or 160 in my opinion. Manny is overrated. Good fighter but Arum pimped him and roach didn't do anything to fix Pac many flaws. all he did is put him in the ring with guys that were slower, weight stipulated or coming off of loses. Pac had the tools to be waaay better than what he is but Bob Arum wanted the money more than making Manny into something great. Freddie Roach got paid for matching Pac up and keeping his style the same. JMM showed that the new Pac was the old Pac all along. Floyd/Martinez would be a great match.
And who exactly has Martinez beat? Seriously, dude is good but he hasn't exactly had stellar opposition. Best two wins was against a drunk hypejob and ****ing Pwil. Not exactly the creme de la creme

    • Martinez is a hypocrite, he wants to fight smaller top fighters cuz is less risky than to go up to 168, there are a handful of good fighters he can face and could make him p4p king if he beats them all, like Pacman moved up and beat all the top welterweights, except for Floyd... Martinez just wants the big paydays without really proving anything, he's only beaten Pavlik and Williams, anybody else in his resume that's worth mentioning?

Boxing skill wise dude is a great. You're ****ting on Pavlik and Williams but them same wins beat Manny out for FOTY 2010. So who really was fighting the hype jobs?

Fucking Paul Williams? Drunk Pavlik? I like how some choose to forget what the consensus was, disregard his opposition all you want but most here remember what was said before those bouts took place, and it sure as hell wasn't what your saying. Lets also remember he was supposedly ducking Dzinziruk.

Unlike Pacquiao, he's gone into matches that were viewed as threats by the vast majority, and he's been performing/ winning in great fashion too, something Pacquiao hasn't been doing. I still consider Pacquiao great, you on the other hand overrate the heck out of him.

          • I love it how Pacquiao fans were all over Sergio's bandwagon in 2010. They said Floyd would never fight him and that if Floyd ever did choose to fight him that Floyd would lose. Now that Sergio has trashed their favorite fighter Pacquiao fans are saying Sergio has never fought anybody and he was never that good to begin with. Face it Pac fans Sergio is right. Fighting old fighters at catchweights for belts for as long as Pacquiao has how can you say he's the p4p best fighter in the world? I still think Manny is top 5 but I don't think he can be considered number 1 when a 38 year old moves two weight classes and arguably beats him.

I don't. I consider him "GRAKE" great marketing but not a great fighter. Manny is a good fighter who was dressed up by Bob Arum and Freddie Roach to look like the greatest fighter. That's why once Marquez gave him nuff fits people balloons were bursts. Even Pinoy people said he lost. Manny had to hold a press conference to tell them to be Filipino and say he won. That's a fraud. Manny Pacquaio is a good, solid fighter but he needed his flaws fixed and instead of Freddie Roach doing what he needed as a pro trainer to get Pac to the next level, he fooled the public through the media along with Bob Arum. Did you see the pat on the head Arum gave Pac after the Marquez fight? It was a "You can't look good and win em all" pat. Was funny when team Pac was talking about JMM and how Pac would breeze through him but the total opposite happened. They were fooling the world with how great Pac was and how much he improved and that's why I don't cosign Pac as a great because instead of doing what needed to be done they manipulate the way people perceived him and that's why he is off the majority P4P#1 lists with exception to Ring Magazine. People were highly disappointed.

              • How can FOTD pac be fake when he steps up untold weights and beats the no1 or 2 WW in Cotto.

Thats like Sergio stepping up to 168 and fighting Froch or kessler. They might not be the best 168 guys, but still people would give Sergio great credit for stepping up and beating the 2nd and 3rd best fighters of the division.
But Cotto was arguably the best WW anyway as he had a win over SSM. Froch and Kessler wont beat Ward.

This is in reply to comments that Pac never beat the best in the division arguments. And i suppose hatton werent the best at 140 as well now?

The spitefulness towards Pac is getting outta hand. And just because you are desperate to fight Pac, there are honourable ways to do it, rather than belittle someone. That just makes you look the bad guy, which Sergio is hamming up pantomine styly.

                • I can take this so called argment a step further. Pac haters are so depserate to critcize Pac they come up with things like Pac never beat the no1 WW, so he shouldnt get credit and is overated?

Would people criticize Sergio if he beat Carl Froch and Lucian bute or Kessler? Rhetorical question of course people wouldnt criticize Sergio, he would get massive credit. Andre Ward gets credit for beating Carl Froch and Kessler so its highly unlikely Sergio wouldnt stepping up a division to 168!!!
So how can people think they cant give Pac credit for beating the no1 or 2 WW in the world in Cotto? How can they justify it?

                    Hugh:

People are simply pointing out the truth about the fight. The fight was at 145 lbs. Cotto is a stand up dude and says its no big deal. If it wasn't a big deal, why did manny ask for it? Besides, Cotto was not the #1 ww in any sense. At best he was #2.

Pac fans like you have a hard time being honest about that. Why, I have no idea.

Yeah the truth is Pac gets great credit for beating Cotto. He gets the credit people think he deserves, which is an awful lot. Pac asking for 145 is down to a confidence issue and Pac just treading the water, as Pac was stepping up untold amount of weights already and not sure if he had bitten off more than he can chew, but it is nothing more than that. Can you say for certain that Cotto fighting at 145 effected the outcome of the fight with any degree of certainty? No, neither can Pac but it made him feel more confident and comfortable, thats all it was! Cotto had no problems with the weight as he had come in at 146 in previous fights.

Would Sergio fight Ward at 166lb? No, hed probably say im not a super middle, i walk around at 159lb.
