Martinez is not beating Ward in any capacity. Martinez is not going anywhere near the 168lb'ers trust me. He is challenging guys smaller than him, not bigger. Martinez is good and has pop, but his style of fighting will be his undoing. He relies solely on his reflexes and they are going to fail him soon. The way he fights with his hands down and chin stuck out there with his head forward. I think his lucky 2nd round KO against Williams has made Sergio out to be more than he is to the world. He even threw that punch with his head down and eyes closed cmon lol. I am not saying he isn't good, but P4P list, I am not so sure, and he definitely is not #3 by any means. I mean other than the Pwills KO, he really has not done much else but beat Sergiy Dzinziruk. He went 12 with Pavlik and won but Pavlik was on his way down and he came on, dropped Sergio and was winning rounds but couldn't keep it up with that bad cut. Sergio was outboxed for 6-7 rounds and hit at will by this nobody Darren Barker until he stopped Barker in the 11th. He also has a draw with hapless Kermit Cintron. So what exactly makes Sergio so great? Sergio's accomplishments are nowhere near Floyds, Mannys, JMM's etc. To me he should not be ranked anywhere near them on P4P. No worries, Golovkin is going to come clean out all the Middleweights soon, including Martinez!!!

Boxrec has Ward at 6' 0 " and Martinez at 5' 10" with Martinez having a 4 inch reach advantage (75" to 71" for Ward)

Now please post the size advantage that Martinez enjoys over Pac and Floyd.

It's not a good argument. If you don't want Sergio to fight Ward just say it's because you don't wanna' see Martinez get his ass kicked and be done with it.
      That was a good post.

Yeah, he just has 3 KO's in a row against top opponents who have never been stopped before he did it.

I really think people don't even know what power is on these forums.

Wow, so Martinez must move up to 168 & fight the best fighter at 168 to be pfp #3?

When did Pacman go to 154 & beat the best fighter there? Don't worry, I'll wait.

Actually, the comparing scenario for Pacquiao here would be when he beat Marquez at 130 or Hatton at 140.

Pacquiao beating the best fighter at 154 would be the same as Martinez beating Andre Ward at light heavyweight in two years.

Actually Pacman fought above 140 before he fought Hatton, so you're dead wrong.

The ts used margarito as his Pacman example.

Coincidentally a far better comparison would have been Pacman fighting Martinez at 154 with no catchweight. Being that Martinez was indeed the best fighter at or around 154 when Pacman fought Margarito. No need to thank me, it's ok.

pac has gone up how many divisions? sergio has gone up two. . .

pacquiao doesn't even rehydrate to what sergio cuts to make. . .

most people asking for martinez to fight ward are thinking of the fight night weight comparison. margarito was 165 to pacquiao's 149 (i think). hatton and marquez were pretty much the same size as pacquiao on fight night. i doubt martinez and ward would be.

asking manny and floyd to fight sergio would be like asking sergio to fight a 175 pounder. . . sergio would not be severely outsized by a lot of guys at 168. .

sergio is to ward, as manny is to cotto. . that's a good comparison of the natural size difference. . . about 8 natural pounds or so. . not that much . ..

pac and floyd have already earned their stripes. . . they been on top for a damn decade. . . sergio has came along and picked up a few good wins, and because of his flashy KO, people were completely blinded. . .
