    The Ward/Conte/Testing situation

I don't know if anyone else picked up on this, but I noticed a pattern with this subject.

When Ward had the surprising win over Kessler, a lot of people wondered how much Conte's involvement had to do with it. In response to people asking whether or not he was using illegal substances, Ward said he wanted better testing and would push for it for his fight with Allen Green. This seemed to stop people asking questions and even had ******s proclaiming...

you see, Mayweather and Ward are the only fighters we know are clean, war USA, black powah!'
    and so on.

But of course, the Green fight came and went and not a test was taken (other than the same ones everyone else takes, which are shit).

About 6 months ago the subject came up again. This time Ward again deflected the questions about him working a with a convicted drugs cheat by saying that he wanted full Olympic-style testing for his fight with Froch, and that if Froch wasn't willing to do it, Ward would even do it himself to prove a point. Good old Clegg reminded people that he'd used this tactic before, only to be drowned out by the cries of
'Ward is a true hero, let's bomb Iran'.
And now the fight is here and surprise, surprise, it was all complete bollocks. Let's also remember that Abraham actually does have a much higher standard of testing for his German fights, so if Ward was looking for a dance partner in his crusade, he had one right there and yet chose to stick with the regular testing procedures.

I'm not saying that I'm convinced that he's cheating, and even if he is, he's far from the only one. The guy is very skilled and that's the main reason he's been successful. But I do find the little 'let's have better testing' act to be worthy of some criticism, and so far it seems like no one has even commented on it.

C'mon, guys : I know Ward is young, undefeated, black, and American, which instantly equals "GOAT" chants around here, but seriously.

All the participants of the Super Six Tournament, including Froch, contractually agreed upon the World Anti-Doping Agency ("WADA") mandated drug testing for each bout.

The World Anti-Doping Code was implemented in 2004 by sports organizations prior to the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, blending the rules and regulations governing anti-doping across all sports and all countries. More than 600 sports organizations have adopted the Code to date, including this Super Six Tournament Final bout.

With all due respect, W.A.D.A testing isn't exactly O.S.T though, is it?

This thread is about Ward's tenuous stance on O.S.T, not W.A.D.A. And comparing the two is akin to comparing a Mercedes to a Ford.

Not to mention the fact that Conte himself was at the forefront of the entire "designer steroids" movement, who's sole purpose was to create illegal substances that would bypass current testing trends.

Your right, it's not. But I'm struggling to understand your main point, because as far as I'm concerned I don't see anything in Andre Ward's game that could imply he's using designer drugs. Do you?

It just appears to me as if you're lining up an excuse in case Froch loses tonight
