How does Wladimir do it? Can Amir do it too?

    Wladimir is very good in:
    • Controlling the pace of the fight
    • Effectively using the jab
    • Holding ground in the centre of the ring
    • Staying on the outside

Both Amir and Wladimir are athletic, tall and have "chin-issues".

So how come Wladimir can do it but Amir can't?

Is Amir with the wrong trainer? Should he team-up with Steward?

Amir isn't that accurate. Khan throws a lot of punches but misses a lot. He still fights too much like an amatuer and isnt that good fighting on the inside. Still think he is a knockout waiting to happen again

Wladimir had the luxury of fighting fat turds during his career.

        Isn't Khan only 5'10 to Peterson's 5'9. Not a lot of difference.

Besides, he isn't a Heavyweight and his training is based on herky jerky, fast pace style of fighting, that's regularly taught at Freddie's gym.

And he doesn't have the punching power of Wlad. His biggest power punch is the equivalent of Wlad's jab power.

Probably something to do with Khan not being freakishly huge for his weightclass.

But accuracy can be learned, can't it?

I mean skills can be taught, right? So why not?

I dunno if Amir is a knockout waiting to happen but he got hit way too often last night. And I mean way too mucn unnecessarily.

Wladimir is so good at controlling the tempo and fighting at his range because of his jab and his footwork.

His jab forces his opponent to constantly be at his range and when fighters do sometimes get past it, his footwork allows him to step out of range and get them back on the end of his jab. He does that or he either ties them up in a clinch.

So just because of power? I don't believe that, man.

I think the main issue is that Amir doesn't know how to hold ground in the centre of the ring.
