You make a good point.i dont get the ppl wo have issues with the fouls. pushing is a foul rite? he was warned, it wasnt as if the ref ignored it all fight. what u ppl dont get about boxing is that every ref is different. some emphasize some fouls while others emphasize others. the only blatant fouls out there are headbutting and low blowing. the others run the gamete depending on the ref. stop *****ing, the ref didnt do anything wrong. what khan did was a foul and he was warned multiple times and he got a false knockdown to boot. it all evens out. ppl are just looking for something to complain about. khan looked like an amateur last nite. accept it.
I have no issue at all with dirty and rough fighting.
But, if the referee is warning you multiple times for doing something, then takes a point off for it, if you're ****** enough to not realise that you should stop then I don't know what to say.
As soon as the point was deducted Khan should have stopped pushing. Simple as that.
I mean, I wouldn't have cared if the ref took no points, if the ref was cool with it then whatever.
But if the ref does warn and take points then obviously if you carry on doing it you have to expect points to be taken.Comment

exactly and i agree. if ur getting away with a foul, by all means keep doing it. but if ur called out to on it, it would behoove you to make the appropriate adjustments before getting penalized. anyways, this was a learning experience for khan, his inside game is absolutely atrocious. if it wasnt he wouldnt have had to push. You make a good point.

He REALLY needs to work on that inside game, its the worst in world class boxing....exactly and i agree. if ur getting away with a foul, by all means keep doing it. but if ur called out to on it, it would behoove you to make the appropriate adjustments before getting penalized. anyways, this was a learning experience for khan, his inside game is absolutely atrocious. if it wasnt he wouldnt have had to push.
Totally agree with u and Dan btwComment

yup, just hard facts, with that said, the fight was a modern day classic. it was really good. i kno it'll happen again, would be interesting to see who improves on what. probably will be another close one tho.Comment

Its a shame that a fight as great as this one is being talked about more for the deductions than the classic it was...
I like Amir in a rematch tbh, Lamont fought out of his skin infront of his hometown fans and took the title. Defending it is known to be harder than winning it for some reason and Khan who can improve on that performance, avoid deductions ect, should be able to reclaim the belt.Comment

Both of them are neck & neck with the backward running .... Reason why I don't come down hard on Cotto for doing it, is because you never hear Cotto claiming how GREAT he is and he's the one to beat this one or that one. Khan's mouth runs as fast as his feet and if you're gonna make outlandish claims, then at the very least, you should make an ATTEMPT to back them up.
Cotto is in a different class entirely from Khan in character and in the ring.Comment

I don't think i've ever seen a point being deducted for pushing in a fight nevermind two. The second deduction was nonsense. I think Khan has every right to feel aggrieved about that considering the the deductions were the difference on the scorecards.
That being said, great fight. Probably a contender for FOTY.Comment
