I like Amir in a rematch tbh, Lamont fought out of his skin infront of his hometown fans and took the title. Defending it is known to be harder than winning it for some reason and Khan who can improve on that performance, avoid deductions ect, should be able to reclaim the belt.
I think the second fight will be better and IMO it leans to Peterson!!!

Peterson will be coming into the ring as a Champion for the first time, while Khan will be facing a fighter he knows will give him a very tough fight. Khan has never rematched in the past .... and he picked a hell of a time and opponent to do it with, his first time out.

Now that Peterson has the titles, Khan will actually have to fight his azz off to get them back.

I just think Amir can do things differently while Peterson already played his Ace.

Im now a Peterson fan though so if he wins again then fair play to him

The important thing is that the rematch Happens!

I think these British fighters who are used to British referees that allow all manner of fouls in the ring, such as pushing off, shoving, pushing down heads, elbowing, rabid punching, grabbing, hugging, etc, when they come over here and find that some referees will not allow such fouls, they cry that the referee is against them and won't allow them to fight their fight. Rick Hatton was a notoriously foul fighter and now Khan.
Peterson should never agree to a rematch in the UK otherwise the referees there will allow Khan to mug his title away.

Never broke the fighters up, and if khan tried to make room for himself he warned him, and took away 2 points in the end. I had this same convo with Rome, and in the end he agreed with me, the ref basically turned into a brawl, if these same rules were applied to cotto-margs, Ali-Frazier those guys would have lost points too, Ali in all of his fights all the way through his career pushed guys heads down, pushed them away, used elbows. Khan does need to improve his inside game, but last nights ref was a farce! Point deductions for pushing off is nonsense, for the record he warned Peterson numerous times for coming in with his head low, but no deduction for him.

To be honest none of this reaction surprises me because so many people here hate Khan, but a lot of you really don't know what you are looking at, I guarantee Khan would win a rematch, with a normal ref, and a few minor adjustments. After that people will give Khan too much credit for these adjustments, but the difference will be that the referee would not have decided the pattern of the fight. The one thing which this fight has highlighted though for khan is that he certainly needs to work more on his technique, and learn how to nullify pressure fighters

This fight left a sour taste in my mouth really, it was a good fight, no doubt.

But everyone's going on about how Peterson beat Khan and Khan's nothing, and one dimentional etc.

If not for the ref taking the points away from Khan, he would have won. It's not like he was low blowing Peterson, or fouling in a malicious way, he was simply pushing his man away, as he came steaming in 'pushing' Khan back with his head down towards the ropes. This is something we see in the modern game, I've seen Mayweather doing it for years.

A fight should be fair, and to me, it didn't seem as if it was a fair fight. It was an entertaining fight, both men gave as good as they got, but I feel a ref shouldn't be the talking point during and after a fight. He was biased, and in my opinion ruined the fight for me. Everytime he warned Peterson, he warned Khan too, it doesn't make sense.

Rematch, neutral area. Put this to bed.

Watching that press conference the thing that stood out to me was Khan saying the ref didn't give him a warning before the second point was taken.
I'm pretty sure the warning he gave him was taking the first point for pushing off. The ref doesn't have to give you additional warnings after already taking a point, Khan should have adjusted right then. He continued the behavior and the ref acted accordingly.
It's like in basketball, if the refs are calling ticky-tac fouls you have to adjust, you can't wait until you foul out. Or if the refs are allowing physical play to occur with no calls, you have to adjust to that as well. I like Khan and think he is a very skilled fighter, but his in ring adjustments, or lack thereof, cost him his titles.

                Nothing classless.

The man felt obviously robbed and it derailed his plans for the future.
