Good point about Ali, but i am of the opinion Ali should have been warned and/or penalised far more often than he was throughout his career.
Yeah that is fine, but in my opinion you do one or the other, you either break the fighters up swiftly OR you allow them to fight, in every sense of the word. You allow the rumble in the jungle, where you just let them both get away with the all the minor stuff. Yes Khan needed to be a little less obvious in these moves, pushing off, creating space, etc, but at times Peterson was just sitting on his chest catching a breather, so khan was like wtf? Pushed him off and hit him with a combination, you can't completely give one fighter territorial dominance. The referee knew what he was doing, it was no accident believe me!

From khans point of view he just needs to work on is inside game, i am sure he and freddie will go back to the drawing board and work something out in the long term.

Maidana would have KO'd Amir in the 10th and he would have been back in England fighting bums in Manchester.

S'hit happens and Khan needs to realise that HE chose to fight in DC and HE was the one talking about putting on a great show in DC. Somebody must make a gif of Khan backing up in what has to be world record speeds because that was hysterical.

So because it's rare it is unacceptable. I didn't like the call but I'm not against it. Pushing is illegal, Khan got warned, Khan didn't respect the ref in there and it cost him. Most refs would of allowed it to happen but this one didn't and Khan never changed up. Besides the pushing, he was holding Petersons head down, tying up, and headlocking a ton. If not for pushing he should of lost a point for one of those excessive forms of fighting. Khan kind of got what he deserved.

Good game plan by Peterson. He was trying not to give Khan the distance and it worked forcing Khan to pushed Peterson that resulted those penalties.

Never broke the fighters up, and if khan tried to make room for himself he warned him, and took away 2 points in the end. I had this same convo with Rome, and in the end he agreed with me, the ref basically turned into a brawl, if these same rules were applied to cotto-margs, Ali-Frazier those guys would have lost points too, Ali in all of his fights all the way through his career pushed guys heads down, pushed them away, used elbows. Khan does need to improve his inside game, but last nights ref was a farce! Point deductions for pushing off is nonsense, for the record he warned Peterson numerous times for coming in with his head low, but no deduction for him.

To be honest none of this reaction surprises me because so many people here hate Khan, but a lot of you really don't know what you are looking at, I guarantee Khan would win a rematch, with a normal ref, and a few minor adjustments. After that people will give Khan too much credit for these adjustments, but the difference will be that the referee would not have decided the pattern of the fight. The one thing which this fight has highlighted though for khan is that he certainly needs to work more on his technique, and learn how to nullify pressure fighters
I agree that 2 point deductions for pushing was excessive, iv nvr seen it b4...but like Richie McCaw of the All Blacks says, you have to adapt to the referee of each game...Some refs allow the use of forearms on the inside, some allow the holding of the head etc...others break up these exchanges frequently to keep the action flowing...

I favor Khan to win a rematch but he has to adjust to pressure being put on him. Its not hating when you point out a guys weakness and shortcomings after a defeat. Hopefully this might make him think twice before he starts talking **** again on the TV/Radio and tweeting nonsense. If he learns abit more class he will win over more boxing fans...Ricky Hatton for example never got booed in the states that i can remember????

Khan made a lot of classless comments post-fight, I thought it would only be fair to show the other side which will not be reported

Honestly, I would be bitter too. I've never seen points deducted for pushing. Withput the suspect point deduction Khan wins. Hower it was a good fight & there is bound to be a rematch.

Also Peterson exposed the gaping flaws in khans game. I hope the homeys see that if Khan showed up at 147 he wasn't beating every welterweight not named Floyd or Manny fighting like that. They know who they are.

This is why i just laugh when people say ****** stuffs like "He was classless" Most boxers would either walk away from the ring and refuse to give an interview like Cotto or JMM did, Should we class that as classless too? At the end of the day boxers are proud egomaniacs especially when you feel you won a fight that went the other way, You would be too emotional to even have a level head on.

Glad to see Amir give Peterson his props even if he is still bitter about the ref and judges, i wonder if someone like Oscar has had a word with him in that it might be damaging to his image/future PPV Sales... Just a thought, Amir isnt a bad lad at heart and perhaps its 100% genuine. Ur justifying his comments and reaction and i agree with u in that they ARE understandable but that doesn't make them any less classless imo

Just the way i see it. He can learn from this experience and come again, get the rematch won and move on from there....
