Disappointing post from one of the long term member of boxingscene, So a champion who went into his opponents backyard and lost a close fight while having two point deducted for "Pushing" doesnt have the right to vent his hanger in an emotional charge interview? That makes him classless? Of course Peterson sounds gracious he freaking got the decision!!! Some of you guys really need to start appreciating what boxers have to go through in the gym/daily lives before they step in the ring..Your thread/post is really disappointing, I really expect better from you, If this was from a ******* i wouldnt have been shocked at all..

He can say what he wants about the ref but he should have given Lamont his dues. Khan needs to sort his attitude out.
He did give Lamont his dues, he said he fought a great fight, and did what he needed to do. Damn right he should be angry, the ref did not allow him to fight his fight, and on top of that he had a direct effect deciding the fight

I am telling you, put any of the top referees in the game on this fight and you have a dominant khan win.

Never broke the fighters up, and if khan tried to make room for himself he warned him, and took away 2 points in the end. I had this same convo with Rome, and in the end he agreed with me, the ref basically turned into a brawl, if these same rules were applied to cotto-margs, Ali-Frazier those guys would have lost points too, Ali in all of his fights all the way through his career pushed guys heads down, pushed them away, used elbows. Khan does need to improve his inside game, but last nights ref was a farce! Point deductions for pushing off is nonsense, for the record he warned Peterson numerous times for coming in with his head low, but no deduction for him.

To be honest none of this reaction surprises me because so many people here hate Khan, but a lot of you really don't know what you are looking at, I guarantee Khan would win a rematch, with a normal ref, and a few minor adjustments. After that people will give Khan too much credit for these adjustments, but the difference will be that the referee would not have decided the pattern of the fight. The one thing which this fight has highlighted though for khan is that he certainly needs to work more on his technique, and learn how to nullify pressure fighters
Cotto wasnt pinned on the ropes like Khan though and he never pushed and pressed down on Margarito all night long either. A major difference. What Khan should have done to make space was turn his man or walk him back but dont SHOVE him off or down.

Good point about Ali, but i am of the opinion Ali should have been warned and/or penalised far more often than he was throughout his career.

I think Khan was pretty classless too. Especially with the DC comment. That made me irk.

Must see a rematch immediately either way.

Sorry to disappoint Ray but its how i saw things. The comment about No Wonder nobody has fought here in 20 years was classless imo. He had a bunch of warnings before the points came off, he didnt take them and paid the price. Like i said though i scored it a draw, Khan is still one heck of a fighter and id pick him in a rematch regardless of where it is...

I agree that 2 point deductions for pushing was excessive, iv nvr seen it b4...but like Richie McCaw of the All Blacks says, you have to adapt to the referee of each game...Some refs allow the use of forearms on the inside, some allow the holding of the head etc...others break up these exchanges frequently to keep the action flowing...

I favor Khan to win a rematch but he has to adjust to pressure being put on him. Its not hating when you point out a guys weakness and shortcomings after a defeat. Hopefully this might make him think twice before he starts talking **** again on the TV/Radio and tweeting nonsense. If he learns abit more class he will win over more boxing fans...Ricky Hatton for example never got booed in the states that i can remember????

I knew the ref would be a factor when he didn't give the first knock down. I can't understand why Bayless, Smoger or Nady were not in charge of a massive fight like this.

Firstly i scored the fight to Peterson, Before the fight i was shocked how some boxing fans were overlooking Peterson, Secondly i really dont see anything wrong in what he said, Boxing is an emotional charge sport, if you cant handle a boxer who spend 2 months training and felt he got jobbed in a close fight then you're just looking for excuses. Sorry

Just watch the fight again and listen to the ref talking during the fight. I didn't even have to put the volume up to constantly hear the ref telling Amir to ''fight him''. The ref was virtually clowning Amir and it was very frustrating to watch. Imagine if this ref was in charge of the Khan-Maidana fight. Maidana would have KO'd Amir in the 10th and he would have been back in England fighting bums in Manchester.

S'hit happens and Khan needs to realise that HE chose to fight in DC and HE was the one talking about putting on a great show in DC. Somebody must make a gif of Khan backing up in what has to be world record speeds because that was hysterical.
