HBO announcer bias is getting out of hand...

Not the way Khan did, you don't.
You use your shoulders/elbows to push off, you don't flat out use both hands on the other dude's chest to flat out push him backwards 5 feet.Comment

Yeah the HBO commentators were definitely biased as hell because Khan is an HBO/Golden Boy fighter. At least Kellerman argued with Merchant when Merchant said "Did the ref even give a warning?" I don't know what the hell the other 2 were watching. Khan was pushing off constantly throughout the fight and also putting his arm around Petersons head and pushing him down. He must have did it over 30 times. Someone please make a video of how many times Khan was pushing off. It's an illegal move point blank period. Just because some refs look the other way doesnt mean it's not illegal. I was telling my friend that Khan was getting away with pushing off so many times and i was happy when the ref finally warned him. I was shocked Peterson got the decision. I was sure those judges were Golden Boy judges.Comment

The Brit commentators had Peterson winning by 1 point. Less biased imo though a draw would certainly have been possible.Comment

I trust Steward's response over those guys and Steward said that the point deductions were not the right call. And as correctly pointed out, pushing is a minor offense, and for a repeated minor offense, any good referee tells the fighter...."if you do that again, i'm going to take points"
And it's not as though the ref didn't mess a few low blows from Peterson, didn't get himself tangled up in the 1st round, etc, etc, etc.
In general, poor referee IMO.
exactly, it was very close fight could go either way but the second deduction for khan is bit unfair, knowing peterson throw alot of low blow. i hope they got tony bayless in the rematch.Comment

I will agree with most of that. But I didn't think the call was right on this fight.I'm actually ashamed of most of the "fans" here. It seems like this place is nothing more than a virtual gathering of the sports most shamless nuthugging fans, as opposed to the place that it actually once was : A virtual gathering of fans who had their favorites, but kept it real and discussed boxing logically.
Look at the rounds, look at the compubox, look at the rounds where points were deducted. At best, I could call it a draw. Given I don't agree with the point deductions at all, I thought it went down bad.
Most of the nuthugging is on one guy. Mayweather. To an extent, Paq, but Paq has also pretty much leveled all comers, fought top competition for about 7 years straight now, and been pretty active, so I think it's reasonable to expect that fanfare.Comment

You see the guy coming towards you before he smothers you put your jab out, simple. If you don't stop him with the jab then you learn how to fight on the inside and punch your way out, and using good footwork helps too. khan didn't have the tools to keep the pressure off, so he resorted to pushing which is illegal.Comment

Not this ****** compubox bullshit again. Compubox has no bearing on scoring a fight whatsoever. And anybody that leans on it to back up their argument loses by default.
Compubox = Two dudes sitting at a desk behind a goddamn computer, clicking a button everytime they think a blow lands.Comment
