HBO announcer bias is getting out of hand...

This. Khan's main problem wasn't that he was "pushing" Peterson, but that he was clearly using his elbows too much to push him around. Just by seeing the the replay most guys will notice that Khan was pushing with an anti natural movement by using his elbows. What nobody is really addressing here is this....
Yes, the referee was garbage. But he scored Khan with a knockdown in the first round that replay clearly showed was a trip : Khan landed a hook as Lamont was trying to retreat with Amir's leg behind him, so the shot caused Peterson to trip over Khan's leg going backwards.
Take that into mind, and Peterson was only "gifted" one point by the referee. And I don't really see that as a gift, either. As the referee warned Khan multiple times about pushing and holding Peterson's head down.
Granted he should have called a timeout to officially warn Amir that he was close to having a point deducted as all referees do, but one point deduction was clearly warranted, IMO.
Whenever Mayweather pushes off with his arms, most of you guys are the first to cry about him using his elbows.Comment

I streamed this one, so I havn't watched the HBO version yet. But the interview at the end seemed okay, I didnt notice any bias from Larry. But Ill have to watch the fight again.
I didn't think it was a knockdown, but Ill have to see the replay. Im assuming it wasn't, and the one point deduction is justified after all the warnings. What nobody is really addressing here is this....

pushing off is something you do.
only thing is he should have used his shoulder more instead of using his arms.
should have used the elbows too. catch an elbow to the throat and face a few times and idiot won't be coming in head first anymore.
that ref was bull****.
so are you.Comment

Bottom line : It was a close fight, but Khan's cheerleaders are going to cry "robbery" despite the closeness of the contest, and use the referee's poor job as an excuse to "justify" their claims of a robbery.
It wasn't.
Take away the bullshit knockdown in the first round, as well as both point deductions, and the fight was still closely contested.Comment

When is it illegal for a fighter to come in with his head low?pushing off is something you do.

It's not.
Unless it's below the waist.
Which it wasn't.

I didn't say not do it. An actual top/elite ref would have given a point warning. Which was never given.khan was also holding peterson's head down, holding his head in a headlock, on top of pushing off and all for the same reason to create distance from peterson. if khan keeps doing it the ref is justified in taking points. most refs probably wouldn't but that's because we are used to most refs being on the promoters payrolls.
And don't one side it. Peterson was rabbit punching, hitting on breaks, on holds, and was inciting the clinching. Peterson repeatedly got down to the canvas as if he was going to sprawl on it.
If you watch closely, he actually takes a knee because he was getting too low while getting punched, that was not called a knock down.Comment
