You are "assuming" too much. Cotto did not say that, He pointed to Arum and said "THERE is my promoter and he will always be my promoter." The word "contract" was never spoken, although it was implied by the definite way in which he referred to his relationship with Arum.

Wait and see like everybody else, except the fantasists.

As much as we want Manny, Cotto, ect to stand up to Bob Arum and tell him to get ****ed; they're not doing it. Far from it. They're stayin loyal to the man that's lined their bank accounts. Wouldn't you?

Cotto is not going to rock the applecart.

It's kind of sad that all these promoters want to keep their fights in-house.

Top Rank and GBP need to kiss and make-up so that the best matches can be made for the good of Boxing...

cotto is one of few guys in a sport of snakes who isn't a snake. and while most would think it commendable, its not the best way to do business in a business as fickle as this one.

i would have told arum we're done the minute the fight with margs was over. I'm surprised he didn't, considering how steadfast in his support of margs arum was and how much cotto *****ed about rito.

its obvious he's angling for pac, so i guess i can understand him staying with TR to avenge his other loss.

I think Miguel is looking to keep Top Rank promoting his fights BUT with no contract, on a fight by fight basis. Listen, Cotto is just looking to make his last few big bucks. I believe Cotto has earned the chance to do this and the respect from Bob Arum himself so that Arum will allow it and not block any proposed fights with GBP's stable. Dont think he'll be signing anytime soon with GBP.

De La Hoya wouldn't stand back to allow Marquez to get the fight with Pacquiao. Marquez had to leave them to get that fight and they **** on him publicly afterwards after all his years with them.

Just like they did with Mosley when they kicked him out after he sought the Pac fight, telling him to **** offf and sending him a cheque for 1000 dollars for all his years of service and stake in GBP.

De La Hoya, the guy who once said his dream was to become the sports first billionaire, is as big a snake as they come. GBP are in the game for all they can get, and nothing else. And they underpay there fighters. Canelo hasn't even had a 1 million dollar payday despite setting stadium and HBO veiwership records.

Cotto would be a fool to leave Top Rank for them and let them and Mayweather **** him for a big fight. He'd deserve atleast 15 million for a Mayweather fight, no way they'd pay him that with Mayweather demanding 100% of the PPV and promoter revenue.
