As an example Morales was forced to use Reyes against Barrera twice and he fared better in both those bouts than when they both wore winning and he got his nose broken.

but back in ta day, ta champ decides what gloves to wear. Ta 1st fight, Barrera was bitchin big time that no WAY in hell he gonna wear Morales' gloves. So they did a coin toss and he won. They used Reyes.

Who was WBC champ on ta 2nd fight? Barrera was WBO. that's where ta conflict came in on what gloves to use. Morales had ta WBC belt, Barrera had WBO belt.

First of all, I'm so sick of the fans arguing what could've happened if Pac wore Reyes or if both of them wore it. Just ****in' stop with that ****, we're all gonna find out anyway come Jan 21st.

Now, the real question is NOT what could've happened, but WHY was it in the contract in the first place?

I think it's more of a psychological edge than physical. If it is indeed a kind of mental distraction to your opponent, it is a form of legal cheating?

Pac-EM was not the only fight with gloves contract, so my question is really why implement this in the first place. Shouldn't it be enough that your opponent is using legal boxing gloves?

From personal experience I've worn Cleto's, Ringside, Konami's, and Fairtex(fairtex and Konami are muay thai gloves) Personally both Muay Thai gloves have a similar feel to the Cleto's. I like wearing the Ringside gloves 'cause it feels best to me but I don't like getting tagged w/ the Reyes's. Now if I were a pro-fighter and I wanted the glove issue to be on the contract I would go for "to each his own" . As far as your question goes, the only way to relate to these fighters w/ a glove issue is use 'em yourself and try on different brands and have somebody else use 'em on you to find out if it's a big deal or not.

It was Arum/Erik who want Pacquiao to wear Winning Gloves. The fault with Murad is that he agreed to sign the contract without telling Roach or Pacquiao that the gloves preference was on it. I shouldn't be discussing this with you because this is basic knowledge and is not the main point of the thread.
