    Exactly. Thank you!

The opportunity to be the first Rican to win titles in 4 weight clases is just too tempting.

To put it all into perspective.. Chavez on fight night weighed 181 against Zbik.

Kelly Pavlik ws 178 against Martinez..

The same night Pavlik fought martinez, we saw 2 HUGE Super Middleweights fight. Miranda and Bute both were 182 and 185 on fight night.

Everyone raved about how big Pavlik was, and how he's almost as big as the Super Mids, who weigh in 8lbs heavier than he does.

Chavez then weighed 182 against Manfredo.

There you have it folks. Chavez, if you go by those numbers, is bigger than Pavlik, and Hydrates to the same weight that damn never everyone in the Super Six tourney is hydrating to.

Here's something I wrote on RingMag after the Manfredo fight, and I'll stick to it. and this is also why he probably will not lose to eithre Canelo or Cotto.

Few points I want to make clear - Chavez/Canelo never happens at 154 or catchweight of 156. It's looking increasingly more impossible. If it does, the less talented fighter wins just on size alone. Alvarez's highest on fight night was 167, in his last bout whilst Chavez at 160 is consistently weighing more than 180lbs on fight night. This is a HUGE Middleweight, he hydrates higher than most Super Middleweights not named Bute (who's highest on fightnight was 185 vs Miranda).

It should also be said that although he didn't approach this fight aggressively he still blocked punches with his face and so any chance of him defeating Martinez is still incredibly slim in my book. I find it hard to call a performance against a fighter who isn't even good enough to be considered a gatekeeper an improvement.

Zbik was a legit MW Champion, a hell of a fighter. Praise should be given for winning that fight (disputed, I thought he lost 7 rounds) instead of fighting a guy like Manfredo on the back foot. Don't be blinded by the fact that Chavez opted to scale the ropes and utilize a jab against a terrible opponent - that's not a feat nor anything to be proud of. he still showed a leaky defense in doing so and I think it's sad that a fighter can gain 20lbs over night, land that much leather, and not put a serious dent in his opponent.

Sub par skills and feather fists. Chavez won't win any big ones fighting like this. His key to proving us critics wrong will be in imposing his size on the much smaller fighters of the division, not trying to outbox them.
Throw Chavez into a gym with Garcia, have him pick up the patented Bam Bam, Margy, Andrade, Soto (of 4 years ago), etc type swarmer style, and he'd be hell for ANYONE IMO.

I don't even know how long Chavez is going to be able to make 160, his body will be maturing now that he is getting older. He'll be moving up to 168 soner rather than later IMO. There aren't many bums for him to pick up belts from at that weight. All 3 champs there would beat the hell out of him so I think we're going to see the Chavez jr charade for a while longer once he moves up, fighting for those silver belts haha

I highly doubt chavez jr would be willing to go down to 156 lbs.

Most definitely. The same goes for Canelo, in terms of competition. Neither of them can beat on has beens or nobodies from this point on. Chavez is in a position where he HAS to fight a serious opponent right now, as mandatories are knocking on his door and they are all good. If somehow in his next fight he isn't in the ring with Barker, Proksa, Gaele, Golovkin or Martinez, there will be a SERIOUS problem.

When you're that big though, and seemingly that durable, I think the best bet is to impose your will. if he fought more like his father I could see him being hell for everyone just because of his size.

Yeah, that size advantage will only last so long though because he'll have to move up, at some point or another, and he doesn't have the skillset to bail him out if he does come in to a fight weight drained. So we may see him get a couple decent wins at MW but he is going to have to move up and that's where he will really get exposed. Can you see him really imposing that sort of BamBam style against guys like Bute, Froch or Ward?

full 160 and make legitimate. Still Cotto always loses almost every fight vs almost everybody here in the forums all the time so before the fight comes it will be according to some a brutal beatdown by chavez and/or whatever else come to mind. then fight night comes, Cotto will outbox the kid and then the oh he was running all night will come up.

TL/DR make it at full 160 legitimate the win and Cotto UD

I really don't want that fight for cotto it's a total mismatch. As far as weight goes but not skill set . I rather see cotto unified the belts at 154 all the title holders are winnable fights. I don't care much for the jcc fight it's a worthless title and a good chance he will lose.

Well... I believe, and of course as you well know, in boxing one is always as close to being right as of being wrong... in my opinion Alvarez is too big and too strong... of course Cotto has a big technique edge... but Canelo can box has decent speed and has good conditioning... of course it won't be boxing what will make him win, as much as it would be power... Cotto is too small for anything above 150... heck he might be small-ish for 147... and Alvarez is a big strong kid, with solid boxing... Cotto would prove a huge test, heck even maybe kick his ass... but it would be a bad fight for Cotto to take... he'll see punishment big time, win or lose.
