Second, you contradict yourself. You say he will quit, then say he went life and death with Berto...which is it?

Let's cut the bull**** out, Ortiz isn't some pu$$y you are making him out to be, he's a professional fighter who is very skillful and has youth on his side.

I don't think he will quit vs Cotto, that was one loss against Maidana and I think he learned his lessons from the things he said, He has that right since he's still a young guy.

Cotto isn't shot but he's not the same monster we saw at 140lbs walking through people and breaking them down with body shots. I think in order for Cotto to survive into his later years in the boxing game, he needs to reinvent himself as a boxer and mover.

If he stands in a fire fight with Ortiz, I truly believe Ortiz will get the better of him and possibly KO him.

He could out box Ortiz, I will definitely give him that advantage but you still think it's 2007. I know the Marg victory feels good but calm yourself.
I honestly just don't think it's a good style for Ortiz. He has yet to face a good jabber and he has no jab himself(Floyd has a great jab but just doesn't really throw it). I think you're overrating his speed a little bit.....as far as I'm concerned Cotto has faster hands.

Ortiz's head would be snapped back repeatedly. He'd try and bull rush his way inside but Cotto's punches are shorter and more compact as is his body. This is a fight where I see Cotto go back to being able to work the body on the inside, he doesn't tuck his elbows in like Marg, Clottey, and Pac(pac did this against Cotto).

The only thing that worries me is his high chopping right hook. That could land on Cotto's temple and seriously fcuk him up. Other than that I actually think it would be a very clear win. Late stoppage likely.

all you need to do is look at who Cotto been fighting recently and you will know where he is at Ortiz has better conditioning then Cotto, Ortiz is as fast if not faster and Ortiz hits harder and throws the better combinations this is a fight I will pay to see but I know for a fact it will never happen.
      Clottey is far better.

Punching hard isn't the be all and end all and when was the last time Ortiz rendered someone unconscious or even hit someone so hard they couldn't get up like Pac has done?

for some strange reason I like Vic in this one....IF Cotto had a major right hand like his left hook then I'd probably pick him...I like Vic by decision....I think he can drop Cotto but I don't think he can stop him.....but I DO think Cotto can knock him out and wouldn't be suprised if he did....but like I said, for some strange reason I see Vic winning a decision

I read your post you did give Cotto props but as usual say something extra to diminish him. After giving Cotto props you go on to say that Margo is beyond shot thus taking away credit from Cotto's win. You also said the same thing about Mayorga and in both cases this is simply not true. Both Cheato and Mayorga could still give lots of trouble to most fighters out there and would beat a lot of them.

I'm not going to keep arguing about a fight that will likely never happen but I think you are dead wrong. You think to little of Cotto and too much of Ortiz.

            Make the fight, 150 catchweight
If this fight gets made @ a 150 catchweight and Cotto blasts Ortiz away. Would Floyd fight Cotto then?

Ortiz is mentally unstable but he's a big strong kid and Cotto's jab won't be as effective against a southpaw, especially somebody who closes the distance quickly. I believe Ortiz is faster than Cotto and hits harder but Cotto has more boxing skills and experience. If I was forced to pick a winner I'd go with Cotto who is the proven commodity but I'd be very worried about his punch resistance in this fight.

Cotto's ring IQ is too high and has too much power. He beats Ortiz.

It's a rough and tough fight in which both men could get hurt or knocked down.

I think Cotto revives his body punching in this kind of fight.

Thatd be cool to see Cotto vs. Ortiz-Berto winner. Doubt it though cause they wont be moving up any time soon.

I really hope Cotto leaves Top Rank, I wanna see him against some GB fighters.
