I understand these fights will not happen because none of them can get him $5mill like Margarito and Chavez Jr, Pacquiao rematch can get him.
You act like Lara,Kirkland and Williams are some unbeatable monsters lol. If he kod Kirkland in ths 1st few rounds u and the rest of the cotto/pr haters would just say a feather fisted journeyman already did it,if he beats Williams the same people would say Williams was shot and a punching bag and style wise Lara isnt that bad of a match up for Cotto. You answered your own question of his opponent choice with the last sentence of your paragraph. Honestly if he beats k9 or Delvin would you give him credit?

-Kev- and all the other haters will never give Cotto credit. IMHO Cotto will KO Kirkland, and beat on William's head all night.

      Some dudes will never understand.

Ortiz doesn't have the mental strength to win fights like this.

If he can't get inside to do his thing, he's got little chance. Throw in him getting outboxed and you're on your way to watching him break mentally. Cotto outboxes him, frustrates him and ends the fight in the mid rounds.

I mean, I just hope this fight happens. But it won't. Ortiz would jump at the chance at fighting Cotto, but Cotto would say something like, well can Ortiz get $5million dollars? Like he did to Martinez. Cotto doesn't want to fight none of the top 10 guys. He wants Chavez Jr who is ranked #6 at MW, I am very surprised somewhat, but then again it's Chavez Jr, easy fight. If this fight gets made, and Ortiz crushes Cotto, people will just say Cotto is past it. All of that "refreshed", "renewed" crap will turn in to "he's shot", "he's past prime". Cotto hasn't beaten a good top 10 ranked fighter in years but he wins all of these fantasy match ups. He couldn't even beat Clottey and he barely got passed Mosley so I don't know why any one would bring up the Mosley fight to compare how Ortiz-Cotto would look like, like if that fight was something good. He barely got by that fight, it was a draw, even numbers and everything. Just that it was at MSG.

What an idiot. This idiot is a Mayweather nuthugger to the fullest and since he hardly fights he descredits all the fighters out there to make his hero look better. If Cotto faces Ortiz it will be like the Quintana fight with Cotto knocking him the *** out in 6 but unlike Mayweather he won't need to sucker punch him.

I think the pro Cotto fans don't want to admit that this isn't the same guy we saw in 2007, 2008.

Cotto is the better fighter than Ortiz when it comes to resume, there's no doubt about that.

I personally think this is a tough fight for Cotto because Ortiz is younger, stronger and faster. Not saying Cotto's boxing would be a great help to him but this wouldn't be a slow margarito standing there to get hit.

Ortiz can move and his left hand comes fast, real fast. He's also a very good inside fighter and his right hook is deadly.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto won but I also think most Cotto fans don't want to admit that Ortiz could hurt Cotto and possibly put him away if he did.

And you want to make it seem like he's shot. Face it you find it hard to give Cotto credit and always use something to diminish his wins and abilities.

You forget that Ortiz is easily broken, he went life and death with Berto and was beyond frustrated against Mayweather in only four rounds. If Berto was able to last the full 12 against Ortiz I have absolutely no doubt that at lthe very least Cotto can do the same. If this fight ever happens as soon as Cotto starts to pound him I have absolutely no doubt he'll cave in.

Would love to see this fight. I pick Ortiz by TKO.

I would also love to see Bradley-Rios at 140.

First off, I gave Cotto nothing but props after the Marg fight. You must be mistaken me with the ****** little kids here, I'm not the one so relax with that bull.****.

Second, you contradict yourself. You say he will quit, then say he went life and death with Berto...which is it?

Let's cut the bull**** out, Ortiz isn't some pu$$y you are making him out to be, he's a professional fighter who is very skillful and has youth on his side.

I don't think he will quit vs Cotto, that was one loss against Maidana and I think he learned his lessons from the things he said, He has that right since he's still a young guy.

Cotto isn't shot but he's not the same monster we saw at 140lbs walking through people and breaking them down with body shots. I think in order for Cotto to survive into his later years in the boxing game, he needs to reinvent himself as a boxer and mover.

If he stands in a fire fight with Ortiz, I truly believe Ortiz will get the better of him and possibly KO him.

He could out box Ortiz, I will definitely give him that advantage but you still think it's 2007. I know the Marg victory feels good but calm yourself.
