Go back and watch the fight again, Cotto landed some of his biggest power punches in the 8th and 9th rds. Starting with 1min 25 sec left of the 9th rd Cotto landed many vicious hooks to the body and head.

I agree. Some may think he was slowing down, but truth is he was only planting his feet more often and getting hit in the process. Not like Marg's punches were having much of an effect though... To me it was starting to look a bit like the Mosley fight.

Cotto wanted to knock him the *** out. He was pushing him back and throwing bombs not only that he was starting to go to the body again. If the fight would've gone on Cheato was going to get ktfo by a viscous left hook to the body. The doctor saved Cheato.

It's funny seeing people argue that Margaritto was actually breaking Cotto down. If the fight continued it was Cotto who had the chance of stopping someone.

BTW although I'm a fan of Diaz and think he did a great job conditioning Cotto and making him hold and also push off Margarito, hearing Steward during the replay constantly saying Cotto should've stand his ground more and throw power shots on the inside in close range, made me kind of wished he was in Cotto's corner becuase I agree with him that Cotto should have stand there more and exchange with Margarito on the inside.

He was waiting for the right time to do that and just when he started implementing it. Out came that dumb*** doctor to **** it all up. In univision they interviewed Diaz and he said he wished the fight wouldn't have been stopped to give the fan what they really wanted to see.
