unfortunately, "woulds and coulds" won't cut it in this world. If you use the "would" statement, why can't the Cotto camp say:

    • in 3 more rounds, Margarito would have been KO'ed or blinded or _________ (fill in the blanks). Margariot was outclassed, outboxed and his face also told the truth.

However, boxing commissions, sanctioning bodies, and the media bent over backwards for Pacquiao in the Margarito fight, allowing for a 154 title fight at 150 (which is closer to 147 than 154)...neither fighter was ranked in that division...and on top of that, they WORE 8 ounce REYES gloves...at 150. Margarito was a 164 pounder with 8 ounce gloves. The exceptions they make for Pacquiao...

But back to the topic, Cotto's face was marked up, but nowhere near Margarito's. His chin is ALWAYS there, but his face doesn't hold up anymore. He's done at the elite level because of that.
Doesn't that make it worse for pac fighting a much bigger Margarito who is wearing 8 ounce Reyes? Lol...but yah Margarito still has good power. Looking at cottos face you can tell Margarito was landing hard shots. Had Margarito landed more like the first fight then cotto may have been bloodied up. But cottos movement really made it hard for Margarito to land alot of blows..Cong**** to cotto for avenging his loss.

Cotto swells easy and Margarito looked like a light heavyweight last night.

Margarito should even be thankful that his eye was saved or rather his life if not for the early stoppage by the ref. The ref did a great job, it's not like Margarito was competitive the whole fight, he laid an egg simply. The whole fight was a domination by Cotto.

Sure he hit Cotto here and there WHILE taking extreme beating just like his fight against Pacquiao. If the Ref would allow one more round, more left hooks to that eye and it would be popped.

Yah it was a good decision by the ref and the doctors to stop the fight.

It was funny when the doctors said Marg can't continue and Robert Garcia was yelling something like the last round was their best round when clearly it wasn't lol...

Cotto's face wasn't damaged as bad as it was the first fight, but let's not act like he looked like he didn't even get into a fight.

People on this forum are ******ed.
Yeah, Cotto was marked up pretty good, and he was doing a lot more straight running from Margo last night than he did the first time.

I don't think this fight "proved" anything one way or another about Margo being a cheater the first time. Too many variables.
