lol there are a lot of people here who have never boxed or been in a boxing fight talking about 'cotto's face was busted, he was hurt!'

I was at the post-fight conference and most of the marks on cotto's face were the product of him holding a high guard and marg's punches hitting his gloves and thus scraping his face (especially on his forehead) - and those were sc****s more than bruises...also - cotto has a lot of scar tissue that always opens up.

it's not that Margs didn't land hard shots - he did...but at no point did he have Cotto hurt like in the 1st fight...I saw Margarito wobble twice and he was the one who was hurt - if anyone.

but there will always be mindless fanboys trying to justify what was a completely outclassed team Margarito.

Ya'll acting like Cotto was gettin hit with pillows...look at his face for god's sake!! 2-3 more rounds of that punishment his face would of been a bloody mess like the first time....with nothing LOADED......the difference being that Margo didn't have the eye situation (swelling) the first time......This fight was won and lost based on fear for the eye......no hate on Cotto though......he did his thing....no one will ever accuse Cotto of "being a warriror" but he won the fight.....so be it.....

I don't think this fight "proved" anything one way or another about Margo being a cheater the first time. Too many variables.

Exactly. I'm positive Cotto didn't get hit with as many headshots as the first fight through the same number of rounds. That's another big variable.

Lol at people saying he was gaining momentum. He was controlled for the whole fight. Moreover, in those later rounds cotto was pushing him where he wanted marg to go, then landed hard combinations.

Though i would liked to see marg take more of a beating, it was a good stoppage. Realistically, marg didnt have a chance. He was blind in that eye, cotto was circling left and landing hard shots. He was in complete control.

Its not just the weight of the gloves. Different Gloves have different padding and different density. Cotto's face always gets ****ed up. Hes lucky Marg didn't have 8oz reyes gloves on or this would've been a different fight.
