If he would have fought dumb like the first fight, he would have gotten busted up the same way.

Props to Cotto and that cuban coach tho as I haven't seen a transformation like that in a long time.

Agree, Cotto fought a very smart fight. He hit Tony n then move, and he felt Tony too close he held.

I thought 147 is the cut off for 8oz. Gloves.
Yea, 147 is the cutoff weight for 8oz gloves.

Lol, Cottos face would been better shape if Margs wore 10oz reyes. Those at 10oz arent punchers gloves.

Or at least it invalidates the retarted argument from people on this forum that Margarito didn't have any effect on Cotto this fight compared to the first fight. Well no **** Margs hardly landed and he still left Cotto bruised and hurt.
Yuri Foreman and Mayorga both marked Cottos face too and at no point of that fight did Margarito have Cotto hurt. Stop it please Margs was flat out dominated and outclassed.

It SHOULD be. However, boxing commissions, sanctioning bodies, and the media bent over backwards for Pacquiao in the Margarito fight, allowing for a 154 title fight at 150 (which is closer to 147 than 154)...neither fighter was ranked in that division...and on top of that, they WORE 8 ounce REYES gloves...at 150. Margarito was a 164 pounder with 8 ounce gloves. The exceptions they make for Pacquiao...

But back to the topic, Cotto's face was marked up, but nowhere near Margarito's. His chin is ALWAYS there, but his face doesn't hold up anymore. He's done at the elite level because of that.

Its not just the weight of the gloves. Different Gloves have different padding and different density. Cotto's face always gets ****ed up. Hes lucky Marg didn't have 8oz reyes gloves on or this would've been a different fight.

Same goes for Marg. His face probably would been worse earlier.

Cotto's face wasn't damaged as bad as it was the first fight, but let's not act like he looked like he didn't even get into a fight.

People on this forum are ******ed.

you are saying that 2 oz made the difference in a fight

The damage is more "skin deep", not those deep wounds where his mouth, eyes, nose and every part of his face was bleeding

Plus he was just in a fight and i think both his and Marg's faces are damaged and swell up much easier
