Dude made his own decisions as a grown man so no reason to be salty towards Arum for protecting his investment because Cotto went along with it.
    This is true.

After the Marg fight, I think Cotto could've went his own separate way from Top Rank, but he still signed.

I also remember Cotto said Margarito will never make another penny off him. Here we are.

I like a Canelo fight, makes sense for both guys SHOULD Cotto win that is and **** it throw Kirkland in there with any of the above fighters too - we have some great fights ahead peeps!
I think Cotto would like to rematch Pac if he wins tonight.

That would give him an opportunity to grab that title of beating everyone to ever step in the ring with him. I also think Cotto has a good chance at Pac if it's at a full weight, his style matches up with Pac's better than it does with Floyd's for me.

If Cotto does beat Margarito, I think he deserves the Pacman rematch. He has good boxing skills & may have learned a thing or 2 from the schooling Marquez dished out this past November.

Also I believe that if Cotto does get the Pacman rematch, then it's time to push Tito aside. If Cotto beats Pacman, he's the champ that people should start respecting as one of the greates from Rico.

Cotto would have to tighten up his defense, rely on his jab more and counter punching in order to have a chance at beating Paquiao in a rematch.

Arum's been trying to use Miguel as a stepping stone for his stable since his first loss. The way he promoted Foreman as the next big superstar and pretty much left Miguel on the back burner was obvious. Bob's been trying to get JCC Jr to the upper echelon by exploiting a 5-6 height advantage and probably a 20+ weight advantage against Cotto. Now Margarito is basically Bob's last chance to take whatever he can from Miguel's legacy before it's gone. War Cotto!

I think Tito had a more impressive and dominate career than Cotto.

Tito's win against ODLH (regardless of personal feeling about the decision) simply cannot be equaled by Cotto.

Neither Floyd nor Pac are right now as mainstream as ODLH was. ODLH was ridiculously popular. I'm not talking about him being a better boxer than Money or Pac. ODLH was huge. Little girls dreamed about the *******. Old women also.

Also, Tito's victory against Vargas is unequaled by Cotto. Plus Tito was never defeated by a Mexican.

But who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

I can see why Cotto is upset. He tried to be a sportmans, and accept his defeat but deep down inside he feels Margarito cheated. Everything Cotto and his family are saying on 24-7 is how he and they have always felt.

With that said, Cotto has to understand the dynamics of being a promoter. Bob, as well as any other promoter invest tons of money on guys like Cotto, Margarito and Pacquiao. Alot of time and effort was put into making them a name that sells. Those are the success stories and they end up making promoters a lot of money. However, people fail to realize the amount of boxers they invest in that don't pan out and the money they lose when it comes to building certian fighters up.

When everything went down with Margarito, at the end of the day, Arum was his promoter and seeing how Bob was versed in Law (Harvard Law grad) why are people suprised that Arum went out of his way to protect his investment.

To me that was Arum just doing his job. If Shaw, Oscar, Dibella or anyone else was in Bob's shoes they would do the same thing.

Does anyone think if Cotto beats Margarito (which is a huge huge victory), will the Mexican fans have a dislike for him that they will pay to see him lose on May 5th vs Mayweather?

Meaning is this a plausible fight that makes dollars rather than sense if Bob Arum does not allow his man pac to fight Mayweather?

IMO, I think if Cotto wins tonight, it solidifies his place. I never thought Cotto was anything special and was more or less a glorified and more refined version of Gatti... So I think if Cotto wins and it's impressive, bring on Mayweather assuming Cotto fires Bob.
