nah he should do his own thing. . . maybe use them to help negotiate a fight with floyd - a one time type deal. . . which i am almost positive is what will happen if the pac fight doesn't happen. . . he's at the point where he can work with other promotors without signing a contract.

The Pacman fight came with 2 mores years of a promotional agreement. This fight was to be Cotto's last with TopRank. That was to Arum's benefit.

The foreman fight, you could tell in Arum's face after the fight. That if did not expect that outcome. He was feeding Cotto to a young lion & Cotto national skills was greater.

My point is timing. He just admitted that there relTionship is not good & if this is his last fight under Top Rank, who do you think Arum is rooting for. Come on!

Not a lot of people caught.that one and critizied cotto.for supposedly cherry picking, but the truth was that Arum was feeding him to Foreman to hype him up the whole promotion was about the poor rabbi kid sad story blah,blah,blah. The funny thing is last week Arum said if he beats Margarito, he would guarantee a fight with Chavez for Cotto. Cotto's people must have told him after this fight, the relationship is over. There are a lot more quality fights for Cotto if he goes to Golden Boy. 1) Floyd, 2) Canelo, 3) Khan, 4) Ortiz. Just to name a few. I don't think Cotto respects Arum at all. It also doesn't matter who Arum wants to win tonight. The cheating allegations (judges are aware) and the massive fan support are in Cotto's favor. Margarito is not winning a decision tonight. I like Cotto by wide decision.

last year Floyd met Cotto in PR and then Oscar came to play golf with him there.....COTTO is a fighter that Floyd HAS to fight imo...regardless of what...and Cotto has EARNED the right to fight Floyd...he BEEN earned this dance....so I wouldn't mind seeing this

No favors at all!! In fact the pacquiao fight was his original stab in cottos back. Here you go cotto 11m to fight pac... But, you have to agree to a catchweight, sign a two year contract with me oh and the fight is in 3 months!!! 3 months lol he knew cotto had a really bad cut from clotteys headbutt ittakes at least 6 months for a injury like that to fully heal, plus heknrw cotto had bo trainer. Of course the relationship is strained. Why wouldn't it be? Cotto is human & bob arum went to bat hard for a cheater like Margarito. It's not unreasonable for Cotto to believe that Margarito may have cheated against him, it's quite plausible actually.

Chavez... Arum himself pulled him out of negotiations after comparing, cotto/Mayorga and Chavez/ Zbick.

Due to the relationship between Arum & Cotto, and the fact that this is Cotto's last fight under Top Rank, I feel that Arum wants Cotto to lose. This way, if Cotto heads out to another company (more than likely Golden Boy) he is damaged goods and Arum would have Margarito and position him for a Chavez Jr. fight.

Like I said in another thread, I hope Cotto wins and if the Manny vs. Floyd doesn't happen, then have Cotto vs. Floyd in May all under the Golden Boy banner. Fill the card with some good Mexican fighters due to the May date and call it a day.

Cotto is probably the third biggest draw PPV wise so there is money to be made for both Cotto & Mayweather.
