Like I said earlier, no fight will bring in as much money for Vitali as a Vitali-Haye fight. So money is at least part of the reason. Another part of it may be that beating Haye would help his legacy. I believe that is why he desperately wanted a rematch with Lewis: for what it would do for his legacy.
Having a victory over Chris Byrd doesn't do a lot for a boxer's legacy. No-one esteems Povetkin that highly because he beat Chris Byrd. If Povetkin beat Haye on the other hand, people would think very highly of him.
By the way, Byrd may have landed only 8 less punches, but everyone knows his punching power is matched by the stockier 7th graders found on a netball court on any given Saturday afternoon. He would need quite a high number of those slaps to come out on top.
Ok, so let me get this straight. Fighting Haye, who was shut out in his last fight, who has only 5 fights at heavyweight, 4 against subpar competition, is more legacy enhancing than rematching the guy who you didn't come close to handling like the rest of your comp, who took your belt and who was a perennial top 10 contender for 7 years. Lmao, just fucking brilliant!!! You guys come up with some pretty creative stuff to justify crap.

Well, spin it any way you like, but everyone knows Haye is a superior fighter to Byrd. My personal distaste for Haye aside, he will be remember as one of the greatest cruiserweights ever. Byrd, however, won't be remembered at all. So, yes, defeating Haye is a greater legacy enhancer than beating Byrd.
And as I said earlier, Vitali will get more money fighting Haye then he would fighting anyone else.
Anyway, I've already won this gay argument and won't be responding anymore.

Lol, spin it? These are the facts. And no, Haye is not a superior fighter to Byrd nor is he a better legacy enhancer. You're not responding anymore because you're getting schooled.

Haye is more dangerous than Byrd but doesn't have such good fundamentals.

I disagree. For one punch power, yes. But Lewis couldnt drop V and landed some bombs. Byrd is more dangerous because he will stand in front of you, make you miss wear you down and box your ears off. And i dont even think its arguable as to who's name is more valuable on V's resume. Byrds fight with Vitaly alone is more impressive than ALL Hayes heavyweight fights.
Sorry son, but just saying it doesn't make it so. You're obviously a little miffed as how to BACK your opinion up, but the bottom line is Byrd fought and beat far better heavyweights than Haye has, and Haye himself.
