It's arguable. Margarito is the only fighter anyone could actually say Floyd avoided and actually have an argument.

Bob didn't want to pay Floyd what he wanted so Floyd left. What many people feel is that Floyd could have taken the Margarito fight and then bought out his contract.

To many people, Floyd ducked Margarito. It was a highly demanded fight. As was Judah, just not at time it happened. The Hatton fight was highly demanded, as was Hoya and Mosley. Now we have Pac.

One thing you notice about all these guys is that after Floyd beat them they where considered ****...

What do you think Pac will be called when and if Mayweather beats him? Pac will be put on the list of **** JUST like Hatton, Hoya and Mosley where and we move on to the next thing. Never ending... but Margarito was a fight to be made and it didn't happen. Could we blame it on Floyd for ducking? Yes Could we blame it on Bob? Yes.... there is an argument there and since people dislike Mayweather they tend to just want to blame Floyd which I wouldnt argur with.....

The newbies will eat this up...lol. I remember Floyd calling out kosta zyu at 140; i remember him wanting Cotto at 140 and cotto was too "green," and i remembering him calling out prime Mosley and prime Dela hoya no one wanted to fight him. I remember him trying to bargain with Arum for a package that includes, cotto, margarito, and hatton in return for a 20 mil fight against dela hoya. I remember when he entered 147, the fight with Margarito and P-williams never get pushed far enough because they're were fighting each other and Margarito ended up losing to Williams. I never ever remember Cotto calling out Mayweather...it was only two persons who ever did that could be considered a duck werfe Pwilliams and Margarito. However, since the Margarito scandal i gave him a pass for that because it would appeared he would have fought against a brick fist. That leaves williams, for which he seemed genuinely uninterested in at the time.

People think that no one was clamoring for a Floyd-Margarito fight because of the Brian Kenny interview. But, yes believe it or not there were others clamoring for such a showdown back then.

That's an example of how people were clamoring for such a showdown.

P.S Thit writer is a very underrated boxing journalist...IMO the best journalist that most of boxing fans have never heard of.
btw, that is a good read. Brings back memories of when articles weren't either to the left or to the right but right down the center! Kind of like on here waaaaay back in the day.

It probably will happen, but Floyd only has himself to blame this time. At one point Pacs star was burning much brighter than ANY of those fighters were at the time Floyd fought them. After looking human in the 3rd JMM fight Pas has already been basically discredited as a credible test for Floyd. Insisting on advanced testing was a mistake.

Problem is, Pac fans don't remember, which is 98.4% of the problem.

How can they remember something when most of them didn't even care about boxing until a guy from their country/ethnicity got really famous at it.

I can agree with this post for the most part.

You see I think your wrong. I don't think at any time would Floyd have gotton credit.

Of course now people will say Pac is old and shot. The fact remains that he looks exactly like he did 3 years ago when JMM got the best of him then too. If anything he improved because he got the MD. The problem is he didn't improve in a way fans where perceived he had. Perfect match making and marketing done by Arum is the reason.

Even if Floyd had fought Pac in 08, 09, 10, 11, or 12 there will always be an excuse. If you look at the history you would realize it. Pac will be torn apart just like the rest of Floyd's opposition. An excuse will come one way or another and a new fighter that Floyd is ducking will be built and the process starts all over again. People will write Pac off, some are already jumping that ship so they don't bite the bullet if Bob actually makes the fight.

This is not hating on Pac, this is just how much Floyd is hated. Discredit who he fights in order to discredit the win. It's been that way for years.
