Floyd is a "safety first" boxer. Reason why many fans find him boring to watch. Put another boring counter puncher in front of him like Marquez, what exactly would you expect? Marquez gave in. He had to do something to give the paying public their money's worth -- to Marquez's peril.

Floyd is only able to do well against JMM types is because JMM had to fight in a unnatural way for himself by pushing the action, attacking and throwing first. This allowed Floyd to counter a bloated overweight fighter which is easy.

Floyd hasnt guilt problems like other boxers, but JMM felt awkward with the periods of inactivty and no action, he felt for the fans. So felt he had to throw first.
Counter punching a bloated fighter is easy, voila, floyd knew this.
