Let's be honest for a second. First, your only stating this because you want to see Pac vs May, which is understandable. Second, let's say JMM does this......where exactly does he go from here career wise? Back to 135 against a nobody, especially after all that weight gain (see Roy post Ruiz)?

Who else can he fight to bring him the money a 4th fight would as well as enhance his legacy?

Assuming he does not retire, he could stay between JWW and WW. Fight any of the guys like Bradley, Alexander, Berto/Ortiz winner, Mike Jones etc... try for a WW strap and do it without a CW. Something Pac hasn't done since moving up from 140.

He wouldn't make the money but after Pac fights Mayweather that fight is STILL there and it will still be interesting even if Pac is totally white washed by Mayweather.

Nobody wants to see Mayweather fight Pac if JMM beats his ass again. That is why the fight needs to happen now and well I hope Pac either grows a pair a balls or JMM prices himself out. If Bob declines either of these fights, the boxing community needs to turn their backs on them.... At least people are starting to understand WHY I have said for years that Bob would never put Pac in the ring with someone like Mayweather.

I just hope Bob cashes out. It's now or never. The amount of money the fight brings won't be the same if Pac is exposed yet again.

Marquez had damage but he had the fresher face
he landed the more clean effective punches
he usually gets cut and didnt (that tells you that he wasnt hit as often)
Pac had a busted lip from a punch they showed it during the fight
the cut was a headbutt
he had a baffled defeated look since round 3 and his own trainer the great Freddy Roach didnt have him winning during the fight and didnt know what to tell him.
Pac got outboxed, outsmarted and roach got out coached plain and simple
just accept it

JMM should forget about taking the fight in Mexico, not gonna happen.
It'll be staged where it can gross the most amount of money, MGM or Cowboys Stadium.

But I do agree that he has more say on the conditions of the 4th fight, since it seems Manny is begging for it.
I say take Manny down to LW for all of JMM's marbles... Forget the WBO WW belt for now, he needs his revenge.
I think at LW JMM would have the power to hurt Manny and prolly KO him.

Manny should entertain the fight at 135 to enhance his legacy.
Fighting JMM at WW again would mean nothing, even if he KO JMM eventually.

apart of Effective punching is the impact a punch has but is only a part of effective punching.

How to score effective punching


What cause did the punch have on your opponent? Cuts, Wobbled/hurt, KD, Forced Reset?
Did the punch control/dictate the tempo of the fight?


If the punch did not cause one you move on the the next critriea.


For example in the margarito fight Pacquaio could not cause Margarito to reset, So reset if nullified, you move on to the next criteria. He caused A cut/broken oribital bone so he score cuts, he wobbled/hurt Margarito so he scored wobbled/hurt. He did not score a KD so he gets 2 out of the 4. Cuts and Wobbled/hurt.


Now you move on to did the punch dictate the fight? In this case against Margarito its yes.


so Pacquaio gets 3 out of the 5 , cuts, tempo, wobbled/hurt.




Now in the marquez fight. Marquez scored reset, and tempo. Pacquaio scored nothing out of the criteria. So marquez wins effective punching overall.


Remember Fights are scored round by round by criteria then added up

thanks for the explanation. pacquiao landed the greater volume and percentage of power shots as suggested by the punchstats. would you still award RING GENERAlSHIP to jmm as he was hit more often? or award DEFENSE to jmm even though he was hit more often? i mean you cant be the ring general or the better defensive fighter if you were hit more often. it so hard to score the fight. i think the rounds jmm won were very dominant while the rounds pac won were very close that's why it had this effect on allot of fans. fight could have gone either way it was that close for me.

fighting Marg at 150 was for his benefit. Lets not even talk about belts or weight class. Manny couldve easily said lets fight at 147. Would you rather have that? Then its not a catchweight right? I thought when your the bigger star people should come to your weight, not the other way around? He gave Marg 3 extra pounds, that he didnt have to.

jmm is mad and is so delusional right now, but give him some time , he'll wake back up to reality and realise it will be a big money fight for him yet again....no one can give him that much of a payday right now or ever...

No one could give Pacquiao a bigger payday than Mayweather. No one could give Mayweather a bigger payday than Pacquiao. So let Mayweather vs Pacquiao happen and have the 4th fight against JMM in Mexico, we like Manny in Mexico so it's all good.
