Lacy is a monster he throws with raw power and is relentless. His denfense lacks but he is picking up skills and confidence in every fight. If Calzahge fights Lacy like that he will be put to sleep. To hurt lacy u have to throw very hard and often, Lacy will not respect that pity pat ****.

Lacy ko in 6
"Calzaghe can ****, I mean really ****. He is just a ****er." - Chris Eubank
"No complaints. I gave it a good go and it was pretty even, but it was Joe's heavier punches that dragged the fight his way more and more until I could take no more. I was beaten by the better fighter." - Richie Woodhall
"I tried my best, but he was too good for me. He's heavy-handed, quick-handed and him being a southpaw just makes it difficult. It will take a very big effort for someone to beat him." - Charles Brewer
"I've never been hit so hard so often." - Byron Mitchell
Of course Eubank was past his prime but he was still good enough to beat just about anybody on the scene today and he didn't do too badly in his 2 bouts with Thompson afterwards 2 divisions up.
Woodhall was a class fighter and only a boxrec stat monkey who'd never seen Woodhall fight would try and discredit this win. He injured his arm early in the Holmes fight.
Followed Reid's career closely have you? If he wasn't all that why are people giving Lacy so much credit for beating an old, under-prepared and unfocused version of him?
Brewer's always been hit and miss and mixed in decent performances with **** ones but I'd be more impressed if Lacy had a win against him than any of his wins so far. You call having Echols down 3 times in the 2nd being brutalized? Get a clue.
Everyone who fought Ottke came out of Germany with a loss so what's your point?
Since when has it been unfeasible for a fighter to be past his prime at 32? Calzaghe's looked like **** in his last 3 fights compared to his best, which is why I qualified my opinion. He's come back from sticky spells before to reproduce decent form and if he does so again, Lacy has no chance.
Try watching the guy fight to form your opinion instead of jumping on the stat bandwagon, he's clearly a superior fighter to Lacy. Lacy's closer to Maussa than Mayweather in terms of skill level.
MD,
Can you offer me another explanation to JC's below par performances in his last 3 fights other than him probably being on the slide? It certainly wasn't to do with the level of competition.
This is just more non sense.
And for your informantion, I have seen all of these fights, and a few others. They're all available on the ******* sites.
You took that list of meidocire fighters and tried to list reasons why they were credible.
They were nowhere near deserving of labeling him anywhere near "great".
Beating a bucnh of faded and meidocre fighters means NOTHING.
If that's his "prime" to you, you're just another in the handfull of those who are kidding themselves.
There's no reason why he should be such a shadow of his former self at 32.
It's because he 'never was'.
Lacy at this point would eat up Calzaghe at any point.
All you (and others on here like you) are doing is prepping an excuse.
Joe has never fought anyone as good as Lacy is right now in his entire career. Again, he's going to lose, because he's wasted his entire career failing to prepare himself for a challenge like this.

joe had heavy hands
lacys are heavier
joe slaps his punches
LOL, you're so full of **** it's untrue. Just about every point you've made is even more applicable to Lacy at this point so why are you so tight on his nuts? He's 28 years old FFS, not a kid.
I don't need to justify the credibilty of any of those guys really, their accomplishments speak for themselves. If you seriously consider them mediocre then you've sold yourself.
I've never once called Joe "great", but his best was a damn site better than anything Lacy's showed he's capable of achieving at this point.
I don't know the reason why he would be past his prime at 32 but his last 3 fights would indicate it. Maybe all the injuries? Maybe he doesn't live right? Tyson was past his best at 25 and Don Curry not much later than that.
Lacy may prove to be better than anything Calzaghe's faced but he's got to show ALOT more than he has so far.
Don't get me wrong, I'm in agreement that JC's wasted his career but it's not as bad some people on here make out. There wasn't much wrong with it upto 2002.
