I think that most people who know boxing are looking at it from a "Mayweather is even more equipped to exploit the holes in Pacquiao than Marquez is" angle.
I added some comments below that I think fill out the thinking. As someone who thinks Mayweather probably beats him, I don't mind what you're saying at all. There have also been a lot of "who would want to see Mayweather after that. Mayweather beat Marquez easy" which is flawed IMO.

Darren Barker was also very reluctant in that fight, which made Martinez KO even more impressive IMO.

Well I've never bought into the Pacquiao Mayweather hype. I would like to see it because I think that it would finally shut up all the Mayweather haters, but I've never really thought that Pacquiao had much of a chance. If one wanted to use Marquez to make that argument then the 1st 2 fights were enough to make that case.

I want to see what happens IF Pac can stun May more than anything else. May in the past, when tagged or stunned, has gone instinctively to being more aggressive. He is a fighter inside, which he rarely gets credit for. I think there's a great fight there and great fighters (which both are) bring great things out of each other (with lots of exceptions). Pac might (probably will) lose, but he won't lose easy.

Cliff if you feel that Pacquiao "probably will lose" why do you rank him above Mayweather P4P rise?

I think he's done more and deserves the benefit of the doubt for the time being and I don't have strong enough convictions on who wins. I lean Mayweather but I've never been convinced Mayweather is all that certain or we'd have seen it by now. JMO
