this fight wasn't even close as compared to the 2nd match that they had, in marquez favor, jmm was clearly outboxing pacquiao in this fight, so much so, not only did the boxing world and professionals see it and say the same thing, manny lost, but a house full of pacquiao fans and filipino's where i was at admitted the same thing, at least they were honest and said they were glad for the won but that it was the wrong decision.

my point is this, marquez did way better this fight, wasn't knocked down, clearly executed his game plan by baiting and trapping pacquiao ALL FIGHT LONG, countering manny with ease, and the scores were more in pacquiao's favor than the previous two fights which pacquiao's was more effective in!?!?! that doesn't make any kind of sense......

the scoring criteria for boxing sucks a hard scabbing schlong, seriously, they give too many fighters rounds by scoring the fight on aggression and aggression only, they love to pay lip service to saying " effective " aggression, but they over look " effective " counter punching or " effective " strategy because pacquiao might have been aggressive but he was not effective in any sense of the word in that 3rd fight.......

the same goes with other fights with judges, they too often use the scoring criteria of aggression and over look skill. just because a guy is backing up in a shuffle, an 1/8-1/4 inch at a time dipping in and out of your opponents range to get them to lead so you can counter them is not backing up in retreat!! it's not like a fighter on the run! there is a HUGE difference, these judges and any educated boxing fan should know this, and if not!?!? then they shouldn't be allowed to score fights and shouldn't try and debate using that angle of attack or defense, because it doesn't hold water.

coming forward doesn't translate in " winning " the fight....... floyd is one of the only fighters that doesn't get penalized for moving backwards, not from judges or from,well, not that many critics, which is fine, but when it's admonished for certain fighters or used for certain situations then it's total crap and ruins the integrity of the sport as well as the profession of being a judge and or a competent person........

it needs to change, one of the worst cases of this was shumenov vs campillo II, HOLY SMOKES was that bad, campillo was just slicking his way around shuminov, tagging him, punching with him and getting out without getting hit cleanly, clearly a hot contested fight but campillo was out boxing shumenov, it was a no brainer, so everyone thought, and they gave it to shumenov because he's strong and didn't stop coming forward......... **** that.

Don't make it to complicated. It's simple really pac landed more than marquez in the 7 rounds he won. 5 rounds marquez looked sensational with those precision counters. High light reel worthy but at the end of the day boxing is about who landed more punches. Pac did, and was the active aggressor the whole time. The champion was even the aggressor. pac wanted it more.
