No, only an insane person would consider that a possible outcome.

    • Close fight, but there was no robbery last night.

First off I have to apologize for disrespecting a legend. I truly thought Manny was going to blow his kid out the water, but after the PPV I just realize these guys are made for each other. Just like Frazier getting dominated by foreman and being considered done heading into the Thrilla in Manilla, Barerra being considered done going into Morales 1 and Morales being thought of as the same going into the 3rd bout, when two guys are just made for each other, there will always be close fights between them.

It's like the 4-4 team that gives their undefeated nationally rank rival a close game even though logic says it should be a bowout, it's called a rivalry for a reason.

With that said, there was no robbery. I can post my score cards if you like, but during a fight I always make two. Well actually I'll put asterisk next to close fights and once I tally up my official, I'll redo to it giving the asterisk rounds to the other guy as I recognize everyone has a bias even if it is to a particular style.

I had Manny winning 116-112, 11th was close so I can see 115-113 and if given and earlier round(which I don't really see) 114-114.

The problem, however, is that due to Manny success, a lot of people primed themselves for a blowout, so when Marquez had success, which he had a lot of last night, people blew it out of proportion a tad bit.

I would happily breakdown each round and we can argue from that perspective, but what saw is a lot of JMM combos look nice but were being picked off by Manny. I caught it live, but it's apparent in the replays and can be seen if someone chooses to post video clips. Also I actually thought JMM was on pace to win (I had it even at the half way point) but then JMM backed off and gave the second half of the fight away. That was what lost him the fight, along with Manny stepping up a bit.

I apologize for the long read, but with that said, there was no robbery. Manny won this by two rounds and could have lost as he should have put combos together and took more risk. His blew his chance to silence Marquez, because when your in his and Floyd's shoes, and close fight will be controversial as people love to see those on top fall. So Manny has to be disgusted with himself in that respect.

Yeah, 8-4 for Marquez at least.

One thing that's been overlooked by a lot posters here is this, the compubox scores supported the judges decision. In a close fight such as this, you don't go by the fans perception. They may have been clouded by the pre-fight belief that this fight would be a blow out. It didn't happen and it made Pac looked vulnerable, which in turn, made Marquez looked amazing, especially when one considers his age.
Even Dan Rafael, who is not really much of a Pac fan, said in an interview on ESPN that he and the other scribes around him, thought the fight was a draw, although his unofficial scorecard showed Pac ahead 7/5.

I couldn't see it closer than 9-3 JMM

            • Was a close fight, but everybody who watched it it´s giving the fight to JMM. But surprise, a MD to Pacquiao. It´s rigged, in three close fights, Marquez didn´t win one, when he deserved it atleast twice. Everybody knows it´s all about Pac-May, the 200M $ fight. Sincerely, as a boxing fan I dont care about that megafight more than I care about cleaning the sport of all this corrupcy. It´s wrong!! Canelo, Chavez Jr., Shumenov, are world champions. Lara, Maravilla, Rigondeaux, Campillo can´t get a puta fight. And it´s all the same ****, it´s all about the money and should be about who is better.

              • I am a day late to the party, and just was able to watch the fight, and all I can say is what a goddamn travesty.

I've been a Pacquiao fan for a long time.

What we saw was Marquez doing everything right. He won almost every single round. Pacquiao could not get anything working, the entire not long. Marquez put on a brilliant performance, and Manny had a bad night, not sure if it was an off night or not, or just Marquez shut him down, or whatever, but Pacquiao never got anything to work. Pacquiao knew he lost. His corner knew he lost. Ray Charles knew that he lost, for Christ sakes.

More than anything else, this kind of blatant corruption is going to be the death of boxing.

                    • That is an atrocious card. You're a good poster, but that is an atrocity.

It was a robbery, it's not even debatable. It was a close fight with a clear as day winner...that equals a robbery.

Manny landed a handfull of meaningful punches the entire night.

You only score on activity when the other guy is reallyyy inactive. Marquez wasn't really inactive and he landed just about ALL of the meaningful blows.

Scoring round by round, how you got the same score as Lederman is beyond me.

Please don't tell me you scored rounds 8-10 for Pac cause that would be really sad.
