    That's comical.

Calzaghe has never been in a career defining fight, and there has always been competition in his own weight class he never fought. He held the WBO title, and had no business calling out anyone when he hadn't taken care of business at 168.

Your admission that you hadn't heard of Hopkins before 2000 was all I needed to hear.
i was obviously being sarcastic when i said that i hadnt heard of Hopkins by 01.,

its common knowledge that Ottke never wanted anything to do with JC, they tried gettin a fight with Ottke but Ottke said that he would only fight his mandatories and saw boxing as business, after JC beat Mitchell far more convincingly than Ottke managed then it was confirmed that JC was by far the best in his division,

remember Eubank/JC fight was v.similar to Toney/RJJ fight becos Eubank & Toney both were dehydrated with JC and RJJ too fast and too flashy for them,

JC/RJJ was talked about as far back as 96 becos JC was mouthin off after each fight that he could beat RJJ and durin his fights he'd do the same moves that RJJ would do like shufflin his feet and showboatin, he was a huge prospect

Cal***gie might be good, but he's not that good. He's gonna get his head ripped off if he ever mans up and fights Lacy.

And that's because he was a sheltered Supermiddle who never beat a prime world class fighter.

Again, he had plenty of challenges at 168 he managed to avoid. He had no business calling out pound for pound elite in a higher weight class when he was fighting meidocre opposition in his own weight class, having failed to unify any other belt to go with his WBO "title".

Why would he? High risk, low reward for him, when he could take the safer fight in Ruiz with nearly as much money. If he beats Calzaghe, well, he's a sheltered SMW his whole career who wasn't really tested before that fight.. no big deal. He loses, he's in big ****, and Cal***gie is the next big thing. However, should he move up and beat Ruiz then he's a sensation. And if he loses, well, he's several classes above his original weight.

titles mean absolutely nothing, and who were these "plenty of challenges" you speak of? Markus Beyer? give me a break hes no challenge, Beyer was nowhere near as gd as Reid or Woodhall as proved when Woodhal was robbed, and Reid or Woodhall were nowhere nr as gd as JC as proved when JC beat Reid with one arm and beat up Woodhall,

the only challenges for JC were Hopkins and RJJ,
Warren tried 24/7, 7 days a wk, 365 days in 02 to get a fight with Hopkins or RJJ

It's a joke for anyone to be asserting that All time GREAT fighters
avoided a guy who's spent his whole career avoiding people, lacking a meaningfull career defining win of any sorts.

Calzaghe would of beaten him, I agree with Warren on this one. Look, Calzaghe would of had much faster hands than Jones Jr had they fought in 2003. Infact Calzaghe had faster hands in combination than Jones Jr ever had (Jones Jr had faster single pot shots and faster reflexes though). I believe that Calzaghe would of forced him to trade by coming onto him, timing those leaps forward and getting inside at some point and trading, and then the chins would be the difference (Calzaghe's solid, Jones Jr's shaky).
You really are delusional. Roys hand speed still is much better then Joes ever was and Joe doesn't even punch correctly he slaps like a girl. Calzaghe doesn't have a good chin himself and has never been hit by a 175lb fighter. Roy would have schooled Joe easily, patheticully easily.
